"Visited for my mine and my partners anniversary this evening and it was amazing! Upon arrival we were greeted with a happy and lovely manner. The gentleman who seated us (I believe he was the manager was so welcoming and wished us a happy anniversary. As we got to the table there was a lovely card wishing us again a happy anniversary which was so nice, as they did not have to do that and it meant a lot to us. Once we were sat, a lovely young lady came to take our orders and she was very sweet and so attentive. Our food came swiftly and tasted delicious, I definitely recommend the homemade sausage roll for a starter. My partner had the whitebait which was huge! Overall would definitely recommend the black horse as everything was perfect :"

"We live fairly locally and always drive past saying “we should try that place”,so we did. Went for a weekday lunch. The expansive car park was fairly empty as was the restaurant. We were seated immediately but took a while to get served. The waitress was unable to advise on the menu as it was new and she hadn’t tried much of it. I ordered fish pie and vegetables nonetheless. The food again seemed to take time and was delivered by a whirlwind of another staff member. The pie was disappointing small and lacked flavour.My promised vegetables turned out to be a dish of peas, when I questioned this the answer was ‘ oh yes I knew that , I should have told you’. We declined dessert (didn’t have time) and when we came to pay I tried to use Amex, which they don’t accept, after two attempts we got the same comment’I knew that and should have told you’. Overall a bit disappointing as the surroundings are pleasant and the menu looked OK. Maybe I just chose poorly."

"My wife and I have eaten here before and found it very pleasant. A little slow on service the first time but better on this occasion. Can recommend the salmon and prawn pie which was on the specials menu, as was the excellent cherry pie and proper custard. Only slight gripe was a few ants which had found their way onto the table non edible variety! Overall an excellent meal in pleasant surroundings. We will return."
