"Donna's / Newport Restaurant is famous for it's pizzas. We had friends join us for lunch. I ordered a small pizza for myself, my wife ordered a club sandwich with fries for herself . Our friends ordered fried ravioli, calamari and soup. My pizza was fine--no complaints. My wife enjoyed her club sandwich and fries and our friends enjoyed their meal. So my dissatisfaction was not with the food that we ordered but rather with the service or lack of it. We had sat and waited for our waitress, a lady that I would say was a long time server in her mid to late fifties, for over ten minutes without being acknowledged, even though she walked by our table several times to serve other tables. I finally had to flag her down to come and bring us some water and menus. She certainly wasn't in any hurry to do so. Once again we waited longer than we should have for our order to be taken. Once the order was taken, the food came back to us in a reasonable amount of time. Ordered myself a coffee and I'll say this. If you can see the bottom of your white coffee cup, then you know the coffee is really watered down!! Once again, I waited for this server to at least look our way so I could get some more water and truly it was like hailing a cab down in NY city in the middle of the night. It took three requests before she brought a glass of water. So if you plan on going here for food--the food is fine. Pizzas are good--but you've been warned --the service is NOT good!!"

"Visited Ottawa and met friends here. The menu is extensive and there is vegetarian as well as non vegetarian choices. The food is excellent, The servings are large and include salad and vegetables for most items and they provide doggie bags when you can't finish your meal."

"We came here because of the rating and it did not disappoint. This is a very small restaurant with sophisticated decor. We were here for lunch on a Friday and it was packed. <br/ <br/ We ordered the calamari to start, and a pork gyro and chicken souvlaki platter. The food came put rather quickly but the quality was not compromised by the speed. The calamari was fresh and hot, and it was a very good portion as an appetizer. The chicken souvlaki skewer was OK, but the side dishes were delicious! There was lots of feta on the salad and the lemon roasted potatoes were great. <br/ <br/ The service was kinda lacking as it was pretty busy and there was only 2 servers but overall a very positive experience. I'd recommend this place. <br/ <br/"

"This place is great. Once a month the b/f and I get the gyros platter to go. One platter and we split it! And we both like to eat! You can ask for extra pickled stuff on your salad (mmmm) and the owners are so nice, so make sure you ask if you want something! A great local business to support."

"This was my go to restaurant for greek food. What a disapointment tonight! My vegetarian plate was 21.95 for 2 small triangles of re-heated Spakanopika, 4 Dolmades fresh out of a jar in the fridge, a green salad, dry rice and 3 pieces of potatoes. The tzatziki in my friend's plate tasted like sour cream and her keftes were good. Service was so-so, by the time she came back to check on us, we were almost finished eating."

"Such a gorgeous little restaurant tucked away on Bank street. Portions and pricing are reasonable. The owner is a very kind and warm person, who you can tell works hard as he was working front of house, serving, and cooking in the kitchen as well. Would recommend to those looking for a comfort meal. Nothing flashy, just good food and good atmosphere :"
