"This is a very disappointing restaurant. There are now three Tom’s Kitchen restaurants, one in Chelsea (the original restaurant which opened in 2006), one in Somerset House, and now one in Canary Wharf, which opened a few weeks ago, and which I visited as it is located close to my work. Tom’s Kitchen is a modern British brasserie serving comfort food, and tries to use UK-based suppliers wherever possible, and uses sustainable fish and they try to avoid endangered fish like tuna. "We visited today, after previously visiting before, I have to say I was a little disappointed that the menu was majority fish especially with the starters Im not a big fish eater! There was very little option for non fish lovers as a starter except gazpacho soup. Before we even were seated we were kept waiting for 10 minutes to be sat down as a table was making 4 different payments in front of us. When we did eventually sit down the table was incredibly sticky, and despite being asked to be cleaned it needed a deeper clean than that. Food was fairly good, bit disappointed with the chicken burger and the roast the staff were helpful though. You could definitely tell they were short staffed."

"Visited here in need of a lunchtime burrito fix. Ordered a chicken burrito. The amount of meat was ridiculously small, a common problem in a lot of London lunchtime places lately. The Burrito itself was stuffed with loads of the cheaper ingredients, but the meat was very paltry (no pun intended! The spicy sauce was good, it had a real kick to it. One member of the staff was particularly kind and friendly, even asking how I was. But the others were very rushed, even though there was no queue when I visited. And now on to the kicker the cost. Burrito with chicken and guacamole and a bottle of water £9.85!!! Jeez, someone is making a lot of money here. I was just left disappointed, and won't be returning!"

"Dined out using the government discount. Some menu options weren't included but that was made clear at the beginning of service. We have dietary requirements which were well catered for. The waitress was really attentive without being on top of us all the time. she was lovely. Nice quiet atmosphere, good mix of fellow diners and good views of Tyne and bridges. We would definitely visit again"

"Went to the maven for an anniversary dinner. The atmosphere was very romantic and chilled. The service was very quick and we weren't kept waiting for our food. I found it very good that they offered a vegan menu and you can mix and match for same included price. The food was nice. I had the Thai chicken laska, the only thing I can say is that there was still cartilage and alot of skin left out the chicken, so it tampered with the overall quality of the food. Overall I did have a pleasant experience, will return when restraunt week is on, as quite pricey for quality otherwise"
