"I have always found the quality at Belper Fish bar good however following a visit yesterday it will be a long time before I go there again! The chips were disgusting and not fresh and if I could make a guess they were lunchtime leftovers. It was also disappointing that we couldn’t sit in to eat given that most places are now open. I also question quantity given and the potential for waste as surely this is something to be considered for the environment. Very disappointing that standards have dropped as this used to be the best fish and chip shop in Belper."

"Such a lovely pub if only we lived within walking distance! Delicious food, great choices (even for the vegetarian and gluten free people in our party), well presented, reasonable prices, and friendly, professional service. Lovely little play area, and relaxing atmosphere. Thank you!"

"The food at The Spanker is lovely ,we had gammon egg and chips , chicken bacon and chips in bbq sauce, and a childs scampi chips a d peas. We also had homemade nachos and cheese which are yummy. We went when karaoke was on and it was very entertaining for us all. The staff are friendly and the pub is very welcoming.Ella and a young gentleman served us with a smile and had a good chat. Cheryl and paul also was joining in the karaoke having a laugh with locals . There is also a play area for kids which we will use in warmer weather with our daughter."

"Lunch at Derbyshire Pub Of the Year A revisit to this spectacular pub on a lovely sunny day. To start Tempura Calamari £8.90 Chicken Skewer £7.50 Mains Slow cooked shoulder of Beef £15.90 Smoked salmon Prawn Risotto £16.90 We didn't have desserts as we were full This is truly an outstanding pub. The Dining room is lovely and bright with its floor to ceiling windows looking out to the most incredible beer garden. They have four garden rooms for private dining ideal for a special celebration The staff are lovely, friendly and professional. This is one of five pubs in the berkeleyinnslimited group and they are all beautiful and worth visiting. Review helpful like follow thanks"

"Very nice food and beer, and really excellent service. Only minus point being the inconsistent portion sizes. Some really generous, some ok (but quite a bit smaller- which caused a bit of lunch envy) and on this occasion one a tad too small. I realise...like most things sizes are being made smaller to keep the price static whilst costs are increasing, but the main event on your plate should be the main event, not just chips."
