"Had an hour to kill before a meeting and stumbled across this place on the drive into Kettering. It’s cash only, unusual these days but if it works for them. I’m just glad I had some cash. It’s clearly a popular place with the locals. The staff were friendly, service was good and the Full English Breakfast was a good size, freshly cooked and really hot. Well worth £8 (includes Tea and Toast)."

"This was my first time going here and will probably be my last, as was kicked out after not even being there 30 minutes, it was said we were vaping but we weren’t (just to clarify I DONT VAPE), then was forced by one of the bouncers to finish my large pitcher in two minutes with them at my shoulder, I suffer from anxiety and have a heart condition so this was not an ideal situation for me to be in. In the end I had just left without finishing the drink I had paid for, so I am thoroughly disappointed with my first experience here. I’ve been to many spoons around the country and this was the first I’ve been treated like this."

"Just spent a lovely weekend at The George, in the very pretty, picturesque village of Ashley. We were staying for a family wedding nearby. Wonderful rooms, very comfortable clean and a super fry up for breakfast! Staff were very welcoming friendly! Would definitely return!"

"Been for lunch at The Beeswing before and it was excellent, if a bit pricey for an estate pub. However, went again over the weekend, and it was really disappointing. I ordered the tandoori chicken which was 90% coleslaw, 7% Naan and 3% actual chicken, which for £14, felt like sloppy robbery. My daughter had the standard burger £11.50 which was like chewing on a grenade; the outer crust of the meat was practically impenetrable, even after dunking it in the pot of gravy which they were kind enough to make for her kids! . My wife ordered the veggie pizza but asked for it with no peppers. When it came out, it was like a ruddy pepper parade! Never seen so many of the colourful, flavour-blighting, sods! Easy to pick off, but it's fair to say the mushrooms were tainted. My son's chicken burger was great, and they kindly added some hot sauce for him, so at least one of the meals wasn't a total horror show. Staff are great in there, so we didn't complain but they need to get some quality control in the kitchen, especially for the prices they charge. Meal salvaged by a couple of pints of Madri, which was an utter delight."

"After our disappointing experience last time we ate here, we decided to give it another go. My wife ordered Gammon, egg and chips and I ordered the ribeye steak, well done. The landlord was cooking and the difference was amazing, our food was on the table within fifteen minutes of ordering, all of the food was hot and freshly cooked and the ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. It looks like the previous experience was a 'blip ' and this venue is back to providing the quality of food and service that we expected."
