"We really wanted to like this place! the waiting/bar staff was brilliant. but unfortunately, eating was really disappointing. the clafouti was really understaffed, in it it was raw and runny and only cooked outside of it. the bark bourguignon was dry and tasteless, without sauce/gravy. the cassoulet was a good portion in comparison to the others, but salty. it was very expensive for the standard of food. there was a little waiting to come to eat, but we were prepared after we had read the previous reviews, so we didn't notice that. it is a great concept, so it is really just eating that we feel we need to improve. updated by previous review on 2022-06-01"

"Excellent gastropub. the four of us had net and desserts. that eats time to get in, but it's worth waiting. the standard of cooking and procurement is very high. also large portions. I had panfried sea bass with comminuted new kartoffels, saphir and lemon butter. excellent crunchy skin drowned on the fish and soft rich new kartomas in lemon butter. that was the only dish that was not seasoned for my taste because of the salty saphir. flavours very well balanced. sebastian law ordered the braided lamb from the Sunday roast menu many a time as he is a native. I found it very delicate, but not super aromatic without the accompanying sauce. I tried to bite only a little, and for the recognition of the eater sebastian, order this dish several times, it must be taken very well as a whole. I tasted a little bit of the lonely filet that was grounded and fritted to a good crumb. accompanying heaps were fresh, not frozen, such a great texture. claude crommelins main gnocchi with burrata, tomato and rocket was wonderful. kissen light gnocchi and rich burrata with a clean tasting sauce with fresh, non-toned, tomato. we have also shared sides of broccoli and green beans. the butter green beans cooked with scalopkins were exceptionally good. I like that broccoli was actually Broccoli rave. to dessert I had sticky zehenpudding with ice. I didn't eat much sticky puddings, but that's the best I ever had. light texture, not excessively sweet, and with textural interest in the form of tiny crispy spots of hard toffee sweetnesses in the sauce that contributed to small explosions of sweet. also brownie with ice cream was good, but a little cake for my taste. I prefer my brownies to have a Gooey texture, but that's a personal thing. rich and very chocolatey. individual tarte tatins were nice. the baked and taste loved, but the apples were cooked slightly softer than I like. Salt caramel ice cream was good, but not as exciting as the cooked desserts. the cheapest house red was very pleasant. I actually preferred it to the Pricier bottle of bordeaux, which we also ordered. boozy dinner for four with two bottles of wine, and a cocktail came to £163 including service."

"Been drinking here for years in the many different bars that have been and gone. However this was the first time I’ve been in KOP and it was great. Decent selection of craft beers and cider and lovely pizzas too. Only had one pint of cider as we had been out all day so were having one before we went home. Will def come back soon. A few beers and a game of shuffle board will be on the cards!!!"

"After many positive reviews of Temple of Seitan my expectations were high. The restaurant is located within a building with other restaurants and two seating levels. The seating area is beautiful and filled with plants. After the order I got a summer to inform me when the order was finished. The employee seemed to have a bad day and was not very honest, but I understand that this can happen. I ordered the Burger temple, which was quite disappointing. The vegan bacon was soft and chewing, without a crack. The fillet was thin and tasty. The bread was not very textured and could be better if it was hand-shaped instead of sucking it only in the bread period, what I suspect is what was done. After working with Seitan in a restaurant in the past, I know that it can taste much better. I had expected the ranch to balance the burger, but it was oversalted. Overall, the burger felt confused and lacked care. While my food came out quickly and the price is relatively good, I wouldn't come back."

"Five buns is located above a pub-turned event room called the macbeth and from outside there are not much signs of it, so they are unlikely to come through. we had a booking for 6 o'clock, but we were in the opposite at 4 o'clock, so we decided to put in the pub for a few drinks before our meal. it is not actually a pub (despite google claims that it is open from 4pm on weekdays), and is now a meeting room. at the first arrival I actually thought that the place had closed and it was only after standing for a few minutes asking what to do that a light came and we realized that someone was inside. we were admitted shortly afterwards and the man (who turned out to be greener) explained that it is actually a meeting room and no pub anymore, and it also turned out that the restaurant itself was only opened for us for our booking and was then closed again. it felt a bit strange in the empty restaurant sitting with only one person who served us first and cook, but he was very friendly and welcoming, and we soon felt more at home. Unfortunately he had not the arancini, wobble rings or sweet potato chips that we hoped to order, but he had the burgers we wanted, and we ordered some other pages instead. we ordered the black jack california burger with “This Isn’t Chicken’ nuggets, chips, 2 kartoffel croquettes and a few additional pots of mayo. the burgers were really delicious – the black jack burger had pulled BBQ jack fruit and was only full of taste, and the california burger had the beyondpatty that I loved and was full of taste. the sides were also really delicious with large portions (including a few extra nuggets clamped free and everything was cooked in an air frit, so was not oily, which was really awesome. the extra pots of the mayo were huge, which was great! the greener was really nice and told us everything about his business and was clearly very proud of his eating that had been made clear with much love. I would recommend to come here as eating is delicious – but it is worth making a booking!"
