"The perfect venue for my informal birthday lunch with the family including two tiny grandchildren. Quirky, relaxed, with good service and friendly staff. We enjoyed our meals and didn’t feel rushed at all. A lovely afternoon!"

"Food 10/10 however the day we came they where short staffed .bar staff very polite , service was quick at bar I hope the next time I visit we can have the Yorkshire wrap as this was out of stock on this visit a great feel to the new look look forword to are return at some point"

"Absolute no go! Rudest owner I have ever met and bar member of staff (Sam). Unfortunately we decided to give business to The Waterton Arms and have the after part of our son’s christening there. The appalling service started on arrival when the owner was telling people to wait when asking to order a drink because he was busy counting heads. We were unaware we had to pay for entry. There was no seating set out to accommodate our christening party and it was a very hot day and no tables had parasols outside. The food was an extortionate price for the quality we received. We had guests asking for a plate and the owner refusing! It was so embarrassing for our family when our guests informed us. They then charged us an extra £50 to put more plates out!!! We were actually providing The Waterton Arms with a lot of business by choosing them for our venue. But still now shocked at the service and will definitely never be returning, I would urge others not to! I actually had my baby shower at The Bull in Deeping and we had no issues at all, the service was 100% better."

"A member of staff serving on the tills was pretty much barking orders for where everyone should stand in line. I realize this is the pandemic, but this coffee shop is one of the few opportunities for people to get out. As two of us...were waiting, meters apart, she barked at me to come back to the till in order to stay in line. When I suggested I was actually safer two meters away to allow the next girl to be served, she shouted at me in front of all of the customers and seemed to think she was entitled to speak with aggression and attitude. The coffee was also burnt and was tasteless. This place used to have great service and staff, deeply saddened its gone down hill so much. And would not wish to see anyone else experience such holier than thou attitude from a barista. Won’t be returning again."

"Superb Local Pub , which is a rare thing. Little things like the meat raffle, Open the box customer reward game and very good quality beer makes this a great place. I considered if I should go after reading a few of the reviews, but the others made me think I should give it a try. I was welcomed by the staff as if I was a regular. The other customers were friendly and chatty. The beer was superb. I drink John Smiths Smooth, and I have to say that it was probably the best pint I have had in any pub in Grantham. It was also only £2.50. It was not warm as stated in one of the other reviews). As I noticed food being served, I asked for the menu. I was peckish and asked for advice. I was recommended the homemade chicken strips. These are real chicken fillet strips coated in their homemade batter. They were served with a lemon sauce which was to die for and homemade coleslaw. Once again, it is rare to find a place that actually cooks their food and does not buy it in for microwaving. Yet, my lite bite was only £3.50. I will be back and recommend that others do the same. I would like to thank Sarah who was on the bar) for her friendly and professional service and to Warren the landlord) who was cooking. Cheers Guys, I will see you again"

"I have been here a few times for a ladies night out. It looks like a sports bar, but the food is absolutely divine, and if you get there early it's not too loud or too busy. They also do a fabulous 2 meals for £10. So good it feels like robbery! I've never had a bad meal there and I've been going for the last 4 months."

"My wife and I had not booked, but were quickly found a nice table by the fire, and were brought our drinks virtually immediately. The menu is not huge but sufficiently varied to accommodate most culinary foibles. They were very busy as there was a 2 for 1 lunchtime offer on mains, so we did have a slightly longer wait to be served than expected. However, the quality of both fried sea bass on squash risotto, gammon steak with chip, egg and peas was excellent and the dishes were well presented. Service throughout was prompt and friendly. Would highly recommend."
