"We tried eating here a second time. We were disappointed a second time. I notified the waitress my boneless wings were cold in the center. She offered to have a second batch made to take home with me, but my expectation was to eat dinner there. When I declined she said she was going to talk to the manager. A few minutes later, my card was taken for payment and that was that, no apologies, no explanation. I paid full price for a meal I ate less than half of. Try the place out. I hope other people have a better experience."

"Sushi. We frequently venture downtown to eat here on weeknights between 4:30 and 6pm. Many of the rolls are 30% off at the bar/front dinning room.<br/ <br/ It's very good sushi for the price, though I feel they are quite heavy on the rice. I'd consider this place my #2 sushi place and my #1 Hiabachi. I know it's more than other places, but the food is expertly prepared. My medium steak, is medium, my husbands rare is rare and my mom's well done... is done to our requests. The sauce is perfect.<br/ <br/ Their Philly rolls are great, their spicy tuna the perfect amount of spice, and their spider rolls have very generous amounts of crispy legs and thick chunks of crab meat. My three favorites all done perfectly!!<br/ <br/ When eating at the bar for the sushi special, we always have great service. <br/ <br/ We've had a few bad experiences at the Hiabachi, but all of those have been waitress related rather than the cooks and the majority have occured at Nakashima's (sister location same owners) in Appleton. One experience at the Hiabachi left us with burned onions and sprouts. In the cooks defense, it was because he'd gone to look for the waitress as the veggies cooked. The table had been more than 1/2 through the meal without any rice or a drink check. It was quite pathetic and we felt bad tipping low since its a tip share place. When she showed up, she still didn't bring rice. <br/ <br/ We left without our ice cream... because she also disappeared for 15 minutes at that point too. Even the cook was confused where she was off too, as she wasn't even covering other hiabachi tables... she was just missing.<br/ <br/ We've gone dozens of times and the majority of times things go well. <br/ <br/ Watch out the week of Xmas. My birthday is on the 27th and every year they are understaffed on weeknights. If it falls on weekend, things go much better!"

Everything I go there I eye up the cakes and muffins and by the end of the meal I'm full BUT this time I got some carrot cake yes I was full but I figured if the pizza is that amazing i can't imagine how good the cake is Boy oh boy was I right it was layered, moist, and was mouth watering delicious! "A small diner with a small city feeling through and through, it is not often find this type of place with actual vegan options. The staff was very friendly, I met several conversations with them, including the cook, each of the two times I was her. I had the vegan BBQ pork sandwich and it was the best I ever had. They had some vegan baked goods in their case, and are more than able to do vegan catering requests. Also ask for their vegan cupcake selections that keep them frozen in their backs. Your Keksteig cupcake was dying. I know that this place is a must every time I get back to Appleton. Update: Unfortunately, it is permanently closed."
