"Awful customer service on our visit. Had to request staff twice to remove dirty plates! Had to go and ask what puddings! One option available. Sebastian confirmed candles would be added for a special touch. This didn’t happen. Will not be recommending or returning."

"We visited this pub when we were in the beautiful Blaisdon house on the other side. the menu was diverse and really tempting. my man had the hunch in Stilton sauce and I had the spring-Veg risotto- both were absolutely beautiful. this cook knows how to cook! the service was excellent and all the employees including the renters were so friendly. we only spent one night in cheltenham, where everything overpriced and rushed- our experience in red could not be different, but for all right reasons!"

"Arrived in area yesterday and booked a table, after reading reviews, for lunch today and were not disappointed. Attentive and welcoming staff with impressive roast dinners and puds to match. I particularly was impressed with the locally made ice cream! We were even helped with a doggy bag ! Cannot fault can only recommend and will visit again when in the area."

"My group of 4 stopped here for lunch and we were all happy with our meals. We all ordered various sandwiches and we even shared a couple pastries. The staff was courteous and I was especially pleased to see vegetarian options. I had the tomato, pesto and mozzarella panini and I loved it."

"We live locally and having read all the positive buzz about Sam Jaks in town, we decided to give their newer set-up The Plough in Stratton a go. From start to finish, we couldn 't have been less impressed as absolutely everything was mediocre. The surroundings, the decor, the service, and the table settings are underwhelming, and the menu choices are limited and overpriced. At £14, my beef carpaccio starter was little more than a couple of slivers of beef in a mustard-type dressing and their £17 fish and chips was 'bog standard ' and unremarkable. We eat out regularly and feel blessed to be surrounded by many great restaurants and wonderful dining pubs. Sadly, The Plough is neither."
