"Hangry and traffic everywhere, we decided to grab a quick bite at Ayala Malls the 30th. Although I'm not a fan of Halal Guys, I suggested it to hubby knowing that food would be served right away.

I got the Sampler Platter with Gyro, Chicken and Falafel Over Rice. Just like my other trips to the Megamall branch, I was bitin on the ulam. I had to add sauce to enjoy my food more. I still like the White Sauce the best. The BBQ sauce was interesting and gave a different flavor profile. They warned us about their hot sauce. I tried that before and I carefully avoided it this time. You don't have to pay for extra sauce and you can ask for all when dining in and you can even go back for refills. I loved the warm pita bread and the first thing I wiped out. This Sampler comes with either a small soft drink or bottled water.

Service was great. The place was clean but the airconditioning was really cold I was getting goosebumps.

Still not a fan of the Halal... read more"

"One word to describe, delicious. The restaurant wasn't busy so we got to enjoy our dinner with quiet and relaxing ambience. The staff was attentive and service was quick as food didn't take too long to arrive. All our food was well seasoned and flavoursome; comparable to what we had in Thailand. For starters we had the green mango salad; sweet, sour, salty (from the dried shrimps), and refreshing on the taste buds. For mains we had the green curry and pad Thai. The green curry although not too creamy was lovely with rice and comes with tender pieces of chicken. The food here will set you back a fair bit but you'll be compromised with good food and service."

"Ah Ye Dang, the go-to Korean restaurant. I have been here only twice and twice they didn't disappoint. Had lunch with my friends working in Ortigas so it's readily accessible, easily a walking distance from major offices. It is usually full during weekend nights but it was practically empty when we went there for a weekday lunch.

Like most Korean restaurants, they serve a plethora of banchan but can only refill two of them. We especially like the caramelized baby potatoes so we had those for refill twice.

Ordered Jap Chae, Galbi-jjim and Samgyeopsal for main dishes. The Jap Chae is one of my favourite Korean dish and Ye Dang cooked them very much to my liking. The sweetness is just enough, the glass noodles firm and topped with assorted vegetables and meat. The serving is huge that we had to pack half of it.

Galbijim is basically braised short ribs (beef/pork). This dish easily goes with rice (it's a stew dish). The beef was cooked well/tender and will easily break apart.

Samgyeopsal is a dish composed of plain, unseasoned, pork belly slices. Their Samgyupsal is on the thin side served with slices of onion and is nothing special. The dish is served with a ssamjang and lettuce which are wrapped and eaten all together."

"Yaku has been in the Podium from the start. Other restaurants there have closed but this yakitori specialty place has always found its niche in the Ortigas area.
The prices are very reasonable from the sashimi, sushi and yakitori plates to tempura and chicken teriyaki.
Recommended dishes are:
Yaku platter Php229 - can't make up your mind on what yakitori (Japanese sticks of BBQ) then get this mixed platter of gindara, pork belly, asparamaki, quail egg, okra and chicken with onion leeks.
Sashimi Mariawase - assorted sashimi at only Php319.
California Maki only for Php149.
Ebi Tempura - for only Php269, they have nicely battered shrimps.

Yaku is cozy. Good for intimate dinners. Dark interiors that work well with some shots of house sake (Php179 per order good for 4 to 5 shots).
Parking at the Podium is easy even on weekends compared to Megamall.

boodlebear.wordpress.com"

"Celebrated my sister's birthday dinner here. Good thing we were able to get Metrodeal vouchers so we only had to pay a discounted price of P483 per head.

Not my first time to go to Yakimix so my expectations were quite manageable. I still love the grilling option which is one of its "unique" touch when compared to other most frequented non Korean BBQ buffets. I also noted that there were not much viand selection except for the raw ones you can barbecue. I hated the sweet and sour pork--worst ones I've tried to be honest.

I loved the sausage and tempura (nothing new but exceed expectations). My sister loved the coffee haha. My youngest sister enjoyed the ice cream selection and DIY halo-halo but there's still so much room for improvement for the dessert selection and taste.

If we dined here on its original price of P699, it really only deserves 3.5 stars. Not exceptional but my happy and filled tummy loved it just enough."

"Note: Late Review

Going to Mega is slowly becoming a habit. The reason for my visit is to try Halal Guys. I got discouraged because of the long lines. Next on my list is Ooma, to my surprise, there are 8 people waiting to get a table. My weary feet brought me to Tuan Tuan.

As per the world wide web, Tuan Tuan stands for "to put together". Oh, the wonders of language.

I decided to order takeaway, i wanted to have a first hand account of how their pork buns taste like and compare it with Tim Ho Wan.

They call it Pork Snow Buns. If we are gonna use the name alone, Tuan takes a point, the name is catchy, almost magical. Magical for those who has an active imagination and who digs figures of speech.

The price. It costs less than the competition. Another point there. I paid php 128 for a box of three.

The taste. What i noticed is the milky taste of the pastry (apart from the white color). As for the filling, i cant differentiate it from its rival. I think the taste is similar. Same with the size of ze buns.

And oh, you dont have to endure long lines unlike the rival. That's a good thing, no health risks involved."
