"It's true, it's one of the best, but also pricy.You can get a private Japanese style room for extra. Though the whole restaurant always feels quite elegant, stylish and relaxed. Perfect for a couples dinner.Previously I've tried the pink salt rock wagyu yakiniku which is delicious and a must as I haven't seen this on the menu anywhere else. Tonight we had the deluxe sashimi, all the seafood was delicious except for one, we had as much trouble eating it as the waitress pronouncing it in English (quite charming and I appreciate her effort). The scallops were the top pick off of the sashimi plate. We also had the marinated grilled COD, quite a strong & heavy taste, you can tell it was well prepared, just not to our taste.The staff are mostly Japanese and some of the patrons too. For me this is a good sign for good Japanese food. The restaurant has been around for years and it still remains popular for good reason.Reason why I am only giving it 4 stars is because I think this restaurant is excellent so I am being extra picky. We asked for the desert menu and were bought the bill instead, we insisted on the desert menu (only 6 items); we ordered one item and were told it's not available and were once again bought the bill. I took it as a sign to leave. But why not tell us at the start what is not available (you only have 6 items available anyways), and why not give us a second chance to order a desert... strange.I will be back because I really enjoy the atmosphere and food. But I feel for the price and the small quibbles we have experienced, I can not give it a perfect score."

"Three of us went before attending the footy at SCG! The food was lovely, fresh, hot and very tasty! Burgers and tasty ribs! Couple of beers, very nice, well worth a visit. Good value, not the first time we’ve been n it certainly won’t be...the last!"

"Awesome dumplings, i had veg dumplings though they have only one in veg but still worth trying and baked mushroom tofu dish is super yummy. They are quick in serving, quiet good customer service for both in house our take away orders. My friends had some lamb buns and they like it too. For all veggies I must say, go for it if you are a dumplings fan.<br>

"Good service! The staff helped us to go through the incredibly ridiculous app of theirs to get the first timer groupon voucher to worked. Xihuahua got upset by the process. The crispy chicken was so tender. Mighty aussie got a huge juicy patty and was super satisfying. The loaded fries was tiny... the top is taboli salad, shaved cheese and sauce. Different recipe compared to the rocks restaurant."

"We left bar100 satisfied having been there twice with friends for after work drinks. From hostess to the bar staff to the waiter, everyone is friendly and has a smile for you. The daily offers are great which include a main meal and a drink. Even though the portion size is smaller, the taste is still good and food enjoyable. Live music was nice, but a little bit too loud when you sit inside. If weather is good, sitting on the terrace is the better option anyway. Good place to sit back and enjoy a couple of drinks. Have a go!"

"Let me start this review by stating that I am completely biased when it comes to the Phillip's Foote Family Restaurant, having worked there whilst on my holiday breaks at University. I absolutely love Phillip's Foote: from the snug little front bar; to the cobblestone steps leading up to the BBQ's; to the meat and salad station up the very top. I imagine that not many people in the Hospitality Industry would love/d their place of employment, but I did. I particularly loved being fed in between shifts. I'd cook a steak on the BBQ (mainly the marinated rump steak) and help myself to a decent portion of salad. Phillip's Foote holds such an endearing place in my memory. My family and I have returned to Phillip's Foote many times to celebrate family occasions. It's such a great place."

"Xihuahua suggested this bar upon finding a 50% off coupon for it, also she said the fish fillet and steak was good during her lunch. I think this place got rather expensive dishes without the discount. Upon visiting I realized they served very small portion size... On huge plates. But at least the calamari was plentiful. Could use some more mayo tho. The calamari is fresh and tasty. King trout was good, I could have done the same job tho... Zucchini spaghetti under the fish had a strange dressing which I did not appreciate. The cherry tomato on the dish was very good, it tasted creamy!!! <br/ <br/ Down and under pinot white wine was fruity and dry, lightly bitter, I really liked it! The sirloin was a very tasty one. They had a fantastic grill and selection of meat. The side potato is good but could be softer. Mushroom sauce is pretty good but not enough. <br/ <br/ I have to say they got excellent cooking and good ingredients. But they are asking for too much money with such small portions on pretty much everything we ordered! The staff is friendly and happy when they work, especially the boss who invited in guests in himself and sing a little tune from time to time while working. It seems to me that he takes running the restaurant as his hobby rather than a business."

"We had dinner and breakfast at Playfair Terrace during our pre cruise stay at Holiday Inn Old Sydney. The grilled chicken with mango salsa and the Rogan Josh were excellent and good portion size. The Tiramisu dessert was small and a bit overpriced. We ask...for coffee extra hot, but it was only lukewarm. The staff were efficient and friendly. Would eat there again"
