"I had the breakfast priced at £5 and a mug of tea priced £1.75 the breakfast was ok but the beans where cold like they came straight out the tin but everything else was ok what made it better is that you get a Choice toast or fried bread Like I said it was ok but not amazing and I would go again but there is better and cheaper places in the area I do normally go to the bus station cafe but tried this place as I have only eaten butties from here and they are grate by the way So probably wouldn’t have the breakfast again And probably stick to the butties"

"For the fourth time, having checked that roast beef and roast chicken were on the menu, I finally got to the end of the queue to be told neither were available. Complained to a member of staff who told me it wasn't her problem, complained to the manager who told me the same, and that he was of too low a grade to do anything about it. Some customer service!"

"We booked an evening meal at Great Brampton House and certainly weren't disappointed. Rather than the advertised buffet meal it was a set meal in the restaurant, because there weren't many people eating that night. We were made very welcome and told that we could explore the downstairs and treat it as if we were at home. The house and contents are fantastic. Every surface is covered in antiques, curios and works of art. There are books everywhere too. I would hate to have to do the dusting here! We were advised that they do not have a professional kitchen, just a normal household kitchen and a cook rather than a chef. We chatted to the cook as she was preparing dinner, We had smoked salmon blinis with beetroot salad to start, followed by chicken breast with mozarella sun dried tomatoes, dauphinoise potatoes, new potatoes, green beans mange tout. Sweet was a strawberry cheesecake served in a wineglass. Afterwards we left the restaurant and helped ourselves to port and stilton in the Wedgewood Room, which we ate outside on the terrace. The food was delicious, served on bone china, with silver cutlery and beautiful glasses. Service was excellent and attentive. We were lucky enough to have a tour of the downstairs of the house and the large roof terrace after dinner. We paid £35 per head and this included drinks before dinner, wine with our meal and port afterwards. It was well worth it and we will definitely be going back very soon."

"Fantastic atmosphere and right next to the railway line. for any train enthusiasts it is a nice place to go. trains are not often and only 2 cars long (dmu) so also good for those who are really not in trains. it is very quiet and quiet between beautiful scenery that you can see in fixed photos. can not say that nothing yet considers food quality as I was a little late and they served only drinks at this time. koks was definitiw something that needed improvement (ratio/mixture of coks from barrels with water was very wrong, felt like I drink water with 5% koks taste.) can not say whether it was one time out and maybe because of everything ground, or they add more water than koks to earn more whole spending less. I will visit her again and try again. I will update this review regarding the coke ratio of tap and food quality. 4 stars for now but will think new after the next visit"

"No complaints on the fish- though the chips were quite greedy and not nice- left a horrible feeling and taste in my mouth. But I saw them drop a frozen sausage, picked it off the floor, then chucked it in the fryer. I'm afraid that is a big no no!"
