"Regular customer...but will stop getting breakfast at this location as the quality of eggs is not very high. The eggs come from chickens fed fish meal, and it comes out in the taste of the eggs. Disappointing given all the advertising about not putting chemicals in their burgers"

"Near the University of Manitoba, Asian restaurants (Chinese, Japanese, and S. Korean) are popping up everywhere due to the high number of international students in the area. A couple weeks ago, my friend invited me, for the second time, to Huang Pu River restaurant (1875 Pembina Highway) where you can order a dish of Spicy Fish with bean sprouts or noodles the size of your head!"

"I was surprised to find ourselves the only non-Asian/Asian Canadians in the place, which was fairly busy. The food was quite good, with big portions. Had a great eggplant dish, as well as other things. The service was not inspiring. They did not come to ask if we wanted more drinks etc. The decor is ok. Would easily come back for lunch or dinner."

"This was a really fun place to go for Chinese food because there were so many interesting dishes on the menu, many that we'd never tried before. Apparently ownership changed a several months ago so disregard older reviews that complained about the service, food or decor. The service we received was very good and our server was really helpful in deciding the best choices for us. We'd love to go back with more people so we can try a wider variety of these tantalizing dishes. We ended up with a mixed vegetable dish featuring eggplant and green beans. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the sauce was exceptional. Our second dish was spare ribs coated in sticky rice. What a great combination. Delicious! There were several other tempting options some not for the unadventurous! But what impressed me was the fact that at least half of the menu items were dishes I had never seen before. The menu featured large glossy photos making the selection a little easier. I understand they have a noon hour buffet which I will be trying soon."

"Ordered for pick up. When picking up the girls were wearing rubber gloves. Great. But the one who gave me my pick up order blew her nose into kleenex and then handed me my pick up order. Not able to eat now. Called the manager and was told he will let the girls know to change gloves after blowing their nose. Will not be ordering from there again"

"Twenty years ago Nicolino's was a favourite but it fell off our radar. I've been twice in the past month and had inconsistent experiences. With one friend we had the Mediterranean chicken pizza and chèvre salad. Both were great and the red wine promotion was very good. The second visit with another friend was much different. I drank the house wine which was, well house wine, and not particularly enjoyable. We tried the crostini wild boar for an appetizer. The taste and texture reminded be of beef short ribs. The flavour was robust and the highlight of the meal. The cosimo pizza on gluten free crust seemed halfhearted. The toppings were scarce and it was quite flavourless. The cavetelli was straightforward. Our meals came with side salads, garden and Caesar and neither were noteworthy of lettuce or dressing. The service was friendly on both occasions and parking is ample."
