"We really needed a cup of coffee and a pastry, but got there about fifteen minutes before opening. The young man setting up the outdoor tables was lovely and must have thought we looked like we were suffering from caffeine deprivation because he went inside and came out with two cups of delicious hot coffee and invited us to sit down even though we were so early. We later got some scones as well. It's a cute little place with delicious coffee, the best I'd tasted in Mexico that week, and the scones were good as well. Little parking lot means easy access."

"We never had a bad meal in Zihua! We discovered Abuelas while on an early morning walk and ate there every morning after that. The set breakfast of eggs, beans, toast, fruit, juice, tea/coffee was tasty and reasonably priced at 40 pesos (approx US$3). Staff was friendly and helpful. They open at a relatively early 8AM. This is a small restaurant 3 tables. Street noise is muted early in the morning. Watch locals walk by loaded with fresh fish just bought from fisherman at the beach."

"We went during low season and were one of two couples visiting for dinner.We stayed at Hotel Aura del Mar which is attached to the restaurant. The restaurant has great views of the surrounding bay. We had margaritas for drinks, the mango one was fantastic, the strawberry one less so. For starters we were offered grissini and bread with some sort of avocado-based mayo - very very tasty! I had grilled robalo steak (fish) with grilled vegetables, very high quality. The fish was juicy, perfectly seasoned and grilled medium rare. The vegetables were crunchy, well tasting and their taste combined perfectly with the fish an each other. 5/5! My girlfriend had garlic shrimp. She found the serving small, good taste but nothing out of the ordinary. The service was rather slow but friendly.The food was of high quality but other restaurants in the area offer the same quality for a lower price. 1000 pesos for just mains and two drinks each did not feel like it was worth it. What you pay extra is for being right on the beach, basically."

"Another little surprising place around the canl on the way to the beach. Kind of right at the corner, and uncharacteristally intriguing, I stopped to take a look after seeing the advertisement for Fresh Yellow Tuna. I'm not a seafood fan, but, ribs, pork, steak, and some other things caught my eye. The menu has many selections, but it's kind of a simple layout, so nothing fancy. That's up my alley. I saw that the prices looked rather good, too. Several pesos less than others along the way. No pressure at the entrance while browsing the posted fare. They don't take credit cards. I was there around 1830, and the sun is on its way down, but it wasn't crowded, and busloads of tourists had come in. I ordered the Arrachera and it was season well and cooked just to my liking. A little squash, a little carrot, some french fries, beans, guacamole, oh my! They had also teased me with several appetizing salsas and flavors, pico de gallo, salsa picante, with tortilla chips. I had all that and a glass of sweetened iced tea for 255 pesos MXN. I post the prices in my reviews since I don't know what mid-range or expensive any more and it depends on which country. Also, they had a "piano man" in the front who also played a little sax. Well worth the visit and company. Good attentive staff. Clean. Prompt service. I had been looking for a nicely done steak/meat."
