"I'm a Korean American who moved into the area. Lived in Seoul about a decade and have grown up on it at home so I fully understand Korean food. Out of the dozen or so Korean restaurants I've tried in GTA, this and Beijing Sung on Steele (Koreanized Chinese food, which American fast food chains couldn't compete against resulting in most American chains retreating from South Korea after a decade of trying seem to be the two that insist on making Korean food as intended. Everyone eating in were Korean (meaning, Koreans are willing to pay money to eat here unlike other places that are watered down . This place is legit and well worth checking out. Got the seafood soft tofu stew medium spicy (which is less spicy than medium heat buffalo wings and their stone bowl bibimbap. Both legit. Came with free sides of pickled radish, kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, and cold seasoned beans. Everything was legit and flavorful. In the end, they also give you the bottom crunchy layer of rice on your order of rice (included with the stew with hot water poured over so you can scrape it down and enjoy something akin to a roasted rice broth. You could clearly tell there's a lot of care and pride that goes into their cooking. Only minor nitpick is that the kimchi wasn't spicy enough but it's such a small thing as all these sides were free and it was only this one aspect. There's a lot of love in the food. Everything was fresh, the broth was flavorful and satisfying. Was so happy after we were done that we've finally found a legitimate Korean place in all of GTA (we've hit all the well known spots so far . Far too many Korean restaurants in the GTA are either watering things down (not at this place or eliminating the spice when wasn't really that spicy to begin with (try Indian food/buffalo wings/Mexican food/TexMex/sichuan/southwest food/etc. Should they all be watered down? Heck no! . Spice tolerance isn't something that is fixed. The more you eat spicy food, the more your tolerance builds. We should leave the spice levels alone so the food can stay delicious as intended instead of never being able to experience the proper level of flavor! That goes for every type of food. Luckily with this place, soft tofu stew is one of those dishes where spice level can be adjusted in any direction (including none and it'll still taste amazing as the broth itself is legit (thanks to this location's insisting on showcasing true Korean food . Will be coming back! Thank you very much!! Pro tip: if ordering stone bowl bibimbap, first thing to do is, with a spoon, plush up the rice in the middle of the bowl against the sides of the bowl to try to get more of that crispy goodness while the stone bowl is hot. Do not mix in all the rice together from the beginning as leaving the thin bottom layer of rice intact will ensure you end up with a very satisfying crunchy toasted rice towards the end of your meal that you can scrape and mix in with the remaining bibimbap that's left. Do mix in the red paste in the beginning. That is the one paste that brings all the flavors together and binds them."

"The place was on the quiet side when we arrived, but then again, we arrived before peak dinner hours.<br/ <br/ After giving the menu a thorough read-through, we called the waitress over. We were then shortly served three kimchi-based side dishes that ranged in levels of spiciness. Our meals followed up pretty quickly.<br/ <br/ My friend had ordered a kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew , while I had ordered a seafood noodle bowl in soybean paste soup. As there had not been a red pepper icon (aka the 'spicy warning ' inserted beside the item description in the menu, I had assumed that the dish wasn 't going to be spicy.<br/ <br/ But one look at the red pepper flakes floating atop the broth and I knew I had made a mistake. Meticulously picking up an onion near the surface had proved that."

"Dai Ichi has been our most trusted and frequented sushi restaurant in Mississauga. Located near us in the southwestern part of the city, it is truly a gem and a delight. We have only eaten on the restaurant once, but prefer to order our selections and pick them up to bring home and eat in a quieter, more private environment. The staff are unfailingly polite and friendly and, more often than not, our meals are ready for pickup on time. They have such unique specialty Japanese style sushi rolls, as well as some truly excellent Korean fare, such as pork bone soup, homemade kimchi, bibimbap and our recent favourite, whe dup bap. Check these out on their website.Without exception, everything is so very fresh and beautifully presented, even for takeout. Price wise, it is in the middle of the pack, but for such exceptional cuisine, it is still a bargain. We order from there every New Years Eve, and it is wonderful to start the meal at home with warmed sake and finish it with champagne. When we move away from this area next year upon retirement, we will surely miss Dai Ichi. It has my highest recommendation."

"My expectation was not so high as it is located in a small and not so busy area. I ordered some rolls, seafood Korean pancakes, noodles and noodles. They all have proven quite good, and especially the rolls are better off. other similar restaurants in Mississauga."
