"When it comes to a local diving bar, this place meets every time. Squirt cigarettes as soon as you get in? Check. Bar flies that were there since '86? Check. Lots of game and cheap drinks? Check. If you are looking for a cocktail or a family-friendly place, that is not for you. If you are on the day 3 of a bender and need a quiet place to knock some back before the Sunday singers take over, then you have found your church. Sitting is hard to come and the place is small but ideal if you want to drink a game and day."

"This burger was very well cooked and my hats off to the grill guy. It was a perfect temp and super juicy so no pressing. The burger was this: pickled red onion topping, cheddar, 1/2 pound of beef (they didn 't specify where, cut, or anything like that so I assume it 's tube meat that they portion) I 'd consider this on the lower rung of an average burger. This was a steakhouse burger with nothing really steakhouse about it except maybe the pickled red onion? The idea of the burger wasn 't really there. Usually a steakhouse burger comes w/ a BBQ sauce and a fried onion ring as we commonly see it. Sometimes it comes with a A1 type sauce or bears the name Texas Burger or BBQ Burger. I think at the end of the day, these kinds of burgers are pretty similar but Spanked Puppy 's version just seemed like a burger with pickled red onion. The pickled red onion sadly went unnoticed. I tried it alone and it didn 't have that acidic vinegar hit that you expect and was too fake of a color. The chipotle mayo was there but not much flavor with it either. The meat was well cooked but poorly prepped. A little salt can go a long way with this burger. The bun was a store bought burger bun with a spongy consistency with a there but not noticed vibe. Too floury. Again, hats off to the cook for toasting it w/ butter on the flat top though. This burger excelled in its cooking and delivery but fell flat on its flavor and overall planning. "We sat outside today (90 degrees out) and they were very accommodating. The tables were very clean with hand-sanitary on the tables. We had a nice table with a screen top for shade. The waitress was very friendly. My husband tried the reaper wing challenge. I have Nachos and my daughter has chicken pliers. It was a fun time and we enjoyed our food."

"Service is friendly. Nice large picnic table area out front. Ample parking. First red flag: no smoke smell when getting out of the car. No a la carte ordering options on the menu for meats. You have to buy a dinner or combo dinner. I do appreciate that they serve food in biodegradable containers, but literally within 3 minutes of picking up our food,one container had completely dissolved on a bottom corner and a large puddle of liquid was all over the place. Why is there so much Waterloo liquid in teh meat? . Ok, the food. I've eaten good BBQ all over the southeast. This is not it. The pulled pork and brisket I ordered, while quantity was good, tasted and looked like it came out of a crock pot. the PP was very wet, stringy, and lacked smoke flavor. There were no pieces with bark, just wet stringy meat with a sweet sauce. The brisket also lacked smoke flavor, had no telltale pink smoke ring, no bark, and was chipped up like it had been coarsely chopped. Wet, soggy. The cornbread serving was minuscule. Dill potato salad was good, cole slaw was standard. Chester's in Groton and Uncle D's in Norwich has much better Q."

"Decent experience. Not the best Hibachi I have had but not the worst. The veggies were a little under cooked and I had to explain my dinner request multiple times to the team but it came out correctly. I will try it again and update if better."

"Had a craving for chicken wings so I called ahead to try their wings. Their pizzas are very good as are their sandwiches. Bought 16...8 with honey mustard and 8 with parmesan garlic. They were good but extremely expensive. $26. A little steep. The woman in the take out area was extremely friendly and laughing and they were busy!!! I think we will stick with pizza and sandwiches!"
