"Absolutely appalling customer service from the owner. For the past 5 months, we 've enjoyed our time at the pub – great food and excellent staff, except for the owner. However, my recent experience was highly disappointing. I ordered a children 's chicken dinner for my dog, which the bar staff confirmed was fine and in a joking manner, advising me not to feed her from the plate When the meal arrived, I placed it in a dog bowl and began cutting it into smaller pieces. The owner 's response was completely unacceptable. She shouted across the bar, making me uncomfortable, and then came within inches of my face to drill me for what I’ve done, telling me I’m not in my living room. A piece of advice for Sophia: treat the locals as kindly as you do the tourists. If two staff members told me it was okay to feed my dog, there 's no reason to shout at me. And for those still reading this review, be cautious about sitting before 6 pm. She approached us at 5:50, cleared the menu we were reading for our 6pm order. She proceeded to inform us this table is now reserved and then pointed out 5 other tables we also can’t sit at. She eventually allowed us to sit at the table under the T.V. We ended up eating there, only for her to remove the reserved sign from our original table and casually remark, You could have sat there, oh well. I don 't know how things are done in Spain, but here in the UK, we value kindness, especially when you 're representing your own business. Sincerely, Louis x"

"We have to share guac and maischips. they were delicious. the maischips were warm and beautifully spiced, but also crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. I had never had maischips like these, but oh my gott they were amazing! my fish tacos were the heavens. the fish was soft and tender and melted in my mouth. the spicy green chili Aoili/mayo was also beautiful. was the best tamco I ever had. the haloumi tacos were also delicious. not too salty, paired with a delicious mango sauce. it was perfect. we've dessert the one where they've tried all three. the serviettes were very generous. the churros melted in our mouth and were absolutely delicious with the dulche de leche. the maus with cake was also delicious and soft, and quite rich. the cheesecake had not tasted too much. we could say that it was frozen, because the center was still a bit of ice. the margaritas were insane. not too strong while there is enough alcohol to be worth the money. it was the best margarita I ever had! all staff were very friendly and very courteous. the restaurant is absolutely amazing. would be 100% here in a heartbeat. make sure to book how we heard that they had to tell people that they were fully booked for the night that is not surprising."

"Really delicious food! The jam sandwich is delicious and had a tiny hint of garlic overall amazing flavor! The avocado BLT was also very tasty, but the bread stole the show. So light and fluffy but thick cut. Would definitely come back and try some juices or teas."

"The best service, by very attentive and passionate Italian staff. Delicious and fresh authentic Italian cuisine. Also, a very relaxing bar as well. Pasta puttanesca, a favourite with my husband and for me, the most wonderful mussels, lamb cutlets cooked to perfection, tuna steak, amazing, barramundi, so yum. Also seafood pasta, nero pasta with prawns. As you can see we eat here often and enjoyed it very much. Sassi also has a great wine collection as well as cocktails. My favourite Aperol Sprits. We highly recommend Sassi and we'll miss their passion for good food and service."

"During our vacation in port douglas we have taken most days to house breakfast, but a few times to breakfast. after an excellent breakfast in cafe fresq we knew we needed a return visit, and I'm so glad we made it! the menu is varied without being too long, but covers all the bases from healthy to decadent, sweet and hearty. a large number of options can be made vegetarian and vegan that is always a plus, and the staff was super friendly and helpful."
