"At the foot of a lovely wide mountain side. There's a short steep black run at the very top which was closed the week we were there, and then blues and reds coming in from all directions to the three chairlifts at the bottom. And bang in the middle is the Straßalmhütte. Like most places round these mountains it's a big motorway services place. Lots of sundeck. Lots of room inside. Self service counter. At off-peak times they have waitress service too. When the rush comes the waitresses go and serve at the counter. Automatic sliding doors make it easy to get your tray of drinks out into the sunlight, but beware of the step as you emerge blinking. Carrying a tray of beer glasses in ski boots is risky. Did I mention the half step down to the decking, obviously installed by a carpenter with a love of slapstick? Best to let the waitress do it. But risking all I went inside and got myself an espresso and a big bottle of fizzy water. I made it back to my table without going headlong. And sat in the sun. The menu is the standard Austrian mountain hut, with the addition of pizza."

"After having lived in the hotel for a few days and had quite a lot of stress around the ears, I wanted to save time right in the restaurant.From the price segment in the middle category, from the taste however very far above. I was surprised, in such an inconspicuous local, so good to eat.Also the innate are almost always present and take care of their guests personally."

"Based on other 's people reviews we 've selected the Silbergasser restaurant for a dinner in one of the evenings and we were not disappointed. We requested the local specialities as we like to taste the place we visit and we have been happy with our choices....My husband got the schnitzel and I had a fish dish (not sure about the name of it). They were very good. We sat outside as it was a very pleasant temperature and we 've appreciated a lot the fact that all the waiters were wearing the local costumes (tiroler lederhosen)."

"As usual we ordered a lunch from three changes of dishes. sat under a canopy on the second floor a verandah. waiters not really bright probably before closing of an institution on a lunch break anything similar on wow. let the portion will be less but better on quality"

"I was in many times during the last week because my daughter ski lessons ended there. the service is frightening and the waiters are massive. it turns out it's the owner who was so rude brown hair! He just went away after he didn't serve us. I will. avoid this restaurant from now on! there are many better on the blue sessellift!"

"This is one of the best steakhouses I have ever been. It has excellent meat quality in a restaurant with a typical Austrian/American atmosphere and very pretty waitresses. We've had an overnight at the Rauchkuhl as well which was perfect given the price/quality. All together highly recommanded for a stop-by in this small place St. Johan im Pongau. Cheers!"

"We reserved a table at the restaurant yesterday. When we arrived, nobody helped us go to the table. We wanted to order, but no one came to our table for 15 minutes. Our drinks came after 10 minutes. While we waited for our pizzas, we saw that the arrogant owner stood in the door and watched how a girl worked her ass. We saw that he felt too good to work in his own restaurant while it was really busy. 30 minutes later our pizzas came to the table and guess what... Both pizzas were burned and filled with coal under... We asked for the owner, but he disappeared suddenly. Guess what we did.... We went away and went to a good Chinese restaurant! No more pizza for us in this restaurant"

"We were hungry for pizza and it wasn't good or bad, just different. Crust was unusual and the sauce was more like ketchup. I realize pizza is different over there, but this wasn't what we were expecting."
