"We have never had a problem at this old pub. The food is always good and the atmosphere is just lovely. The warming glow from the log burner is very welcoming as the evenings get a bit colder. The landlord is very accommodating and the...staff seem to be quite efficient. One of our favourite places for an excellent meal."

"Easy to find and park close to. On street parking, no restrictions. Wheelchair and pram access is ok. The menu is good, local produce but the pricing is a bit erratic. Some meals are under priced, others significantly over. The standard of cooking and the quality of ingredients is very good. Coffee is very good, as is the choice of cakes. There are a selection of wines and beers to buy to take away. The atmosphere is lively and the interior shabby chic and comfy."

"We had a lovely evening meal here with my brother and sister in law during a week in the Cairngorms. Service was excellent and it was a cosy, relaxed environment. The Sgian Dubh starter (haggis with neeps and tatties in a whisky cream sauce) was...the perfect size for a starter and the Speyside salmon was excellent as a main course. I can’t remember what the others had but they were all very impressed with the quality of the food."

"My girlfriend and I came in firstly because it was pretty much the only place open at 8pm on a Friday, but we’re so glad we did!! Liked it so much, we came back for takeaway the next day! I can’t remember what my friend ordered, but I had the Hariyali and it was amazing with garlic nan. The next night we ordered the hariyali again and the Butter Chicken.. wow!!!! Both were so good, it was hard to pick a favorite! The place was fabulous, with super friendly service and excellent prices!!"

"The whisky and chocolate he is a game made in the sky. the food was made from the heart and so delicious and fresh. start page made brot and homemade carrot soup. delicious! ros was the perfect host and patrick (the chef) even came out to have a chat. so inviting. if they are near dufftown, they have to try."
