"One of the best restaurants in oxapampa. the food was delicious, the service was good, and the prices were very reasonable. the seats in the open were very nice. the restaurant is packed quite, but we went into the perfect time to grab a table. only complained that she was only 1 size of steaks, 300gs. I wish they had bigger options. overall, great experience and definitiw is worth checking."

"Restaurante Oxapampino started in Huancayo--believe it or not--over a decade ago. The daughter-partner, moved back to her roots and opened a branch with the same name about three years ago. She's done well.I have dined at both, and the food is basically the same. The Oxapampa tradition is not alike anything in Peru. Their German-Austrian roots, different ingredients, and climate support a different taste. For example, meat is generally well done, steaks are thin, most things are fried (plantains, meat, fish, eggs, etc.), they smoke pork (called 'cecina') and then fry it.From this perspective, the chef makes fantastic beef ('bisteck'), well done, but tender in a lightly spicy sauce. The rice was OK, but the fried plantains and cassava ('yuca') were just perfect. She prepares three different types of 'aji' (hot sauces), mixed with tropical fruits, that are not only delicious, but unique. We also fell in love with the variety and flavor of her fruit juices. If you are accompanied, order the 'piqueo con cecina', a large dish with a variety of tastes, but the fried smoked-pork in cubes was touching heaven. Expect to pay from $6-10 for main dishes.Breakfasts are unbeatable, from yogurt to fried plantains or cassava ('yuca'). Only free-range chicken eggs are used, and they are the second-best I have had in Peru. Very good coffee. Expect to pay from $2.50-3.50 for a full breakfast.The facilities are modern, ample and airy, very clean, with parking in front. Lovely kitchen. Has three tables on a terrace--which are great to enjoy the weather. Serves wine and beer at reasonable prices. They tend to close early at night...but most of the city does.The waitresses are also very nice. Attentive and always smiling.Would love for the chef to prepare other dishes, daily specials, or more 'Peruvian' offerings. She has a good hand. In any case, it will be a pleasure to go back."

"Muy buena comida a las pizzas les falto coccion en la base, el resto muy bueno y solo una chica muy atenta para todas las mesas!!¡ y estaba lleno total el local ... el personal de caja, cocina y etc... creo que podrian apoyar cuando estaban sin trabajo a la moza!!! ... el baño podria ser mas cuidado mucha agua en el piso y lo saben ya que habia un trapeador! Muy buena atencion de la linda chica gracias!"
