"This looks like a pub from the outside, but the impressive menu on display outside attracted us in and I'm very glad that we went along with our curiosity. On entry it again seemed predominantly like a drinking establishment, but when we asked for a dining table we were ushered to a private dining room towards the rear. The elderly gentleman who was serving was very friendly and efficient. The menu was full of choice and the food was undoubtedly the best we experienced in Xanten (by far). The wine list was mainly German white but a good range to choose from across dry to sweet. Our dry Niersteiner actually went very well with the lamb."

"Der Mühlengarten ist eine schöne Außengastronomie, in der man bei gutem Wetter toll sitzen kann. Er ist eine Art Straußen- oder Besenwirtschaft, Wein- und Biergarten zugleich. Es wurden kleine leckere sowie selbstgemachte Speisen angeboten. Auch Kaffee und Kuchen waren im Angebot. Das Personal war freundlich sowie zuvorkommend! Es arbeitet mit Freude am richtigen Platz! Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war in Ordnung und wir verbrachten in diesem lauschigen Garten einen lauschigen Abend!Es würde mich freuen, wenn Ihnen mein kleiner Erfahrungsbeitrag etwas hilfreich sein konnte."

"Wir sind oft in diesem Restaurant. Dem Restaurant ist eine Fleischerei angeschlossen. So wundert es nicht, dass die Fleischgerichte von bester Qualität sind. Das Lokal ist freundlich und hell eingerichtet und das Personal zuvorkommend und kompetent.Zu empfehlen sind Rheinischer Sauerbraten mit Klössen und Rotkohl.Auch die anderen Speisen, wie Fischgerichte sind sehr lecker. Wir wurden bei unseren Besuchen nie enttäuscht"

"Wir waren hier in diesem restaurant essen. Wir haben uns den sonntag ausgesucht und die buffetzeit. es gibt ein buffet und man kann a la card bestellen. Bei den buffet gibt es das was man in einem chinesischem restaurant erwartet. suppe suess sauer, reis, gebratenen und und gebratene nudeln. Pommes waren auch im angeboz. weiter verschiedene fleisch sorten. huhn rind schwein sowie krabben. das fleisch war in verschiedenen weisen zubereitet und man kann sich eine sosse dazu nehmen. als extra kann man am tisch einen zettel ankreuzen und man bekommt sehr leckere spiesse, krabben und verschidenen fische lachs und kaenguruhfleisch und weitere exoten wie kanguruh. als nachtisch fruechte und eis und kuchen. die bedienung ist aufmerksam und das essen das bestellt wurde kam schnell. die dinge vom buffet wurden regelmaessig aufgefuellt und es war frisch und heiss. Preis war akzeptabel. fuer 2 personen haben wir 25 euro mit einer 0,7 liter mineralwasser bezahlt."

"This restaurant is right on the Markt, just where a road goes off to the Siegfried Museum. In better weather, there are outside tables. The server was extremely slow in bringing us menus, then slow in taking the order, and at the end when we...wanted to pay. The food was acceptable but nothing more the hamburger was rather dry, for example. The bathrooms are completely inaccessible, in the basement, a problem for one person in my party"

Ambiente The Mühlengarten is an outdoor restaurant as a beer and wine garden. Aside from hecticism and tourist hustle and bustle a small oasis of tranquility in the middle of the old town. One sits comfortably on brown braid chairs with blue and white pillows under blue parasols. Surrounded by Olianderbäumchen, numerous other plants, the Plätscherbrunnen and the windmills you enjoy the evening. On the way to the toilet only one step is to overcome there is another attraction. A small garden. A curved path only 100m long, on the right and left countless planting pots, with a lot of love and a green thumb created. Service The cook can be seen at work in the outside kitchen area. The two services are young, very nice and friendly. Food offers will be German regional cuisine, salads, coffee and cakes and especially a kitchen for intolerances. Every day you can also enjoy the home-baked breads for different dishes. We wanted to try this and decide for the breadboard (15,50€ and for the Mettbrot (5,50€). A large slice of sourdough bread was served at the Mettbrot and there were also two slices for the bread-time plate. It is tasted that for the pure sourdough bread a lot of time was spent without any baking agent and without the addition of yeast. There was also a softer and brighter bread at the bread-time plate. Made from a mixture of 1/3 fine dinkel and 2/3 fine wheat full grain flour from the Kriemhilden mill. Milling and baking in one hand. Meadwurst, raw and cooked ham and cheese as well as cucumber slices and radishes also come from the region. It is ensured that no emulsifiers, no artificial aroma dyes or even preservatives are used. Also two beers, the land beer and the torque dark beer are brewed especially only for the mill garden. Conclusion: Food without remorse- somewhat more expensive but also healthier."
