"Once again we celebrated Mothers Day at Scoopies. It seems to be becoming a tradition. This visit wasn't so happy as the last one described though, for me anyway. The Coeliac (gluten free) Mother.Family group ordered and received their orders - all looking delicious, quickly and politely delivered. Me, I ordered the Gluten Free fish in foil along with the usual chips and salad. The fish arrived - I was so busy talking with family at first no alarms bells went off. I ate some of the fish and then noticed the residue on the outside of my fish...from leftover gluten filled batter etc on the grill. Enquiries to the staff confirmed my suspicion that the fish hadn't been cooked in foil as requested. Back it went and I waited while everyone else ate their lunches. My new order arrived, with the polite staff, I thanked them and tucked in. The fish was still raw in the middle but I was so hungry by then that I ate all the "cooked" bits.Difficult not to make a scene and get angry at your own Mothers Day celebration surrounded by well meaning family, some of whom don't understand the meaning of gluten free. If I eat gluten the result is pain, diarrhea and days of debilitating lethargy, unable to go to work or function properly. None of this known to the people who carelessly provided me with a tainted meal."

"We opted to stop in here as opposed to the other many options in Bribie as there were plenty of seats, the place looked updated and clean and there was parking out the front.The staff were super friendly, offering us water after they took some out for another customer who had asked for some. Plenty of room, comfy tables and chairs, and some books for kids to read. The kids meals were excellent value. Cannot stress that more. They were presented really well and our kids loved them. Everything was cooked fresh, including the kids mini pizza. The only thing that let our experience down was the incredibly long wait time. Over half an hour for deep fried food, and it wasn't busy. And one of the kids meals came out five minutes after ours. Rather hard with hungry kids. Such a shame because it was really good, it's just far too long a time to wait for such basic food."

"The coffee was the highlight. I ordered a Almond milk cappuccino and it was just perfect. We also ordered some chicken sandwiches that were ok but a bit dry."
