"Am biased on this one. In an era of so much upgradation, this doughy old place has retained its purity as the same time-has-stopped-to-smell-baking-bread we schoolgirls adored in the 70ies and 80ies. Having grown up on their jam donuts and cream rolls, which are now a very rare treat indeed in the pure form of yesteryears, the coconut macroons that are soft centred and so decadently good for a sugar high are a big weakness. The nankhatais and puff pastries are good, as are the staple kulchas mommy would never buy from anyone else. This one is a precious gem for the rapidly-turning-yuppy sector, just as the irani cafes are in mumbai or the military hotels in chennai!"
