"I popped in by chance a couple of days ago while running errands. I love this place. I haven't seen or had chess pie in ages, it's especially rare to see in the Midwest. I had a slice and the next day I was back to buy a whole pie for a work party. There was a line from one end of the store to the door but I was lucky enough to snag one. And they were suprisingly fast with service, something tells me these lines happen often. This was at 8:30am on a Saturday. The chess pie was a huge hit! My coworkers inhaled it, many of which had never heard of chess pie. I swear it's just crack in carb form they make at this bakery and I am here for it. After a long night at work I went back to try a hand pie and opted for the chicken mole. My god it was so unexpectedly good. So good I had to write a review while eating it and walking back to my apartment. I usually pop into the local bakeries after my night shifts for breakfast, hands down this place is now the top of my list. The pastry and pies may fool you into thinking it's down home baking, which it is, but after you take your first bite you realize it's professionally made comfort food. Which I feel a lot of places attempt but few can pull off as we as as Spilt Milk does. 11/10 would recommend."
