"We have eaten here twice now, the second time as a guest of the manager after a disappointing meal on our first visit. Both times we ordered the soup and macaroni cheese with garlic bread. On both occasions the soup was bland and the macaroni very disappointing and pretty tasteless. It would seem that the kitchen staff don't actually taste what's being produced. On the up side it's a nice hotel and surroundings , staff are friendly and polite. Prices are very reasonable. Maybe other items on the menu are better and worth trying."

"Service speed fairly quick. But the timing between courses was longer than hoped. But it was fully booked, so it's expected.. Also have some access to view the chefs cooking right in front of your eyes at some tables which is a unique experience, it's like being at hell's kitchen except there's no some mad chef swearing, all running well and smooth, food is fantastic! Best in the region by a long shot. Ambient place to eat, very cozy, clean and inviting. it's like being at someone's house relaxing and having 5 star food served. No echoey uncomfortable feeling a that other restaurants give off with too much open space, This is perfect. Not great phone signal in building, but does offer free WiFi."

"This is well worth a try . It was a by co incidence the we were here. The food was delicious and good portions at a reasonable price. The staff were very good, helpful and extremely good at the job. It is not on a main road but if you are nearby, give it a try."

"Beautiful hotel bistro with views of the beach in st andrews. I had a very nice greeting, on our table shown and had also selected the menu that was described to us a bottle of wine. had suppe to start .. very nice lauch and kartoffel then. for a buffet in an adjoining room .. the buffet was brilliant, then I had fish and chips that always taste better through the coast and I must have my three times boiled chips .. various class .. I had just space for my apfel and berries crumbling with a seperate dish custard. we had a good idea that made it a great value for money. the service was first class, no waiting and all the staff were young, enthusiastic and all happy and friendly. it was an absolute pleasure from beginning to end."

"Contemporary and relaxed venue with friendly service. We chose the festive menu, amazing value at £24.95 for 3 courses. Food was cooked to perfection, good portion sizes and plenty options to choose from. Particularly recommend the biscoff cheesecake, delicious. Loved the fancy ice cubes with berries which made for a very tasty gin and tonic."

"This is literally a crab and lobster shack! IT'S BRILLIANT! We were expecting somewhere to sit and eat delicious seafood. Adjust those expectations; it's a small shed, attached to an indoor cooking area, and what you get is the freshest crab and lobster in the universe, cooked to order and served up in a takeaway bag for you to eat anywhere. My wife reminds me that there are a few outside tables, but not for waiter service, wine, beer, or even knives and forks. The point is that this is such stunningly fresh seafood that the experience is worth it We took our two crab rolls and sat on the breakwater, looking out to sea, while we waited for our lobster to be cooked. The crab rolls were almost enough for lunch, stuffed with as much crab as a roll could hold The lobster came steaming and split up into pieces manageable by hand. We made off with our crustacean and stopped at the local supermarket for a bottle of wine and then found somewhere quiet to sit while we drank from the bottle and ate lobster that you'd pay squillions for in a restaurant, sitting on the tailgate of our car. The price: GBP for two massive crab rolls and a whole lobster; nothing ever frozen, but straight from the sea to the pot and to you. Fantastic!"

"Well worth a visit if your looking for a friendly pub and restaurant in a rural location with real coal fires, tasty food, generous helpings and good service awaits. The friendly staff, background music and warm atmosphere helps to create an enjoyable dining experience. Prices are also very reasonable. Very satisfied and regular customer."
