"We stumbled upon this charming, small restaurant on our way back from Fondamente Nove. (Head down a small alleyway, not the main thoroughfare) It has a small outside enclosed terrace which was, sadly, too chilly at this time of year. Had a delicious lunch of the freshest scampi and squid, with a lovely green salad of the freshest variety of leaves (I know, but a good salad is a rarity in Venice). A really good half bottle of wine as they don't sell by the glass, and friendly service. We headed back on our last night but forgot to check opening hours (closed Wednesdays). Greatly disappointed but plan to return on my next trip. They have an accomplished cook in their kitchen, unlike so many Venetian restaurants."

"We should have known better…someone outside trying to entice business is a sure sign to avoid the place. Plastic menu, all the signs were there. (We were hungry and thought how bad can it be? . We soon found out. It was a terrible pasta meal; worst we had in our 8 weeks in Italy. The pasta “sauce” was dreadful; big soggy mess. We realize that pasta isn’t a Venice speciality…but still this was really bad. Even the pizza was tasteless. There are so many delicious restaurants in Venice do yourself a favour, walk around the corner and find an authentic restaurant. One that isn’t trying to lure in tourists."
