"Three of us had lunch at The Fox on Thursday October well worth the drive from Manchester! The food exceeded expectations, surpassing the restaurants reputation and reviews. We received the warmest greeting and hospitality from Fiona who was knowledgeable about the wines, the...menu and offered interesting information about the local area. Proud and transparent about the provenance of ingredients and local suppliers, the food reflected this and was taste sensations' beautifully presented! We will certainly be back and would be happy to bring the dog, dine near the fire and make the best of such a lovely setting."

"Another amazing meal at a local village pub whose food would grace any good restaurant. Starter: perfectly cooked Mallard with beetroot fennel salad, pine nuts feta. Main: roast Venison haunch {A haunch not a couple of slices} with honey roast carrots, cabbage, hand cut chips and game jus. Absolutely delicious and very generous. As ever, excellent beer kept to the highest standards, great wine by the glass and lovely staff. Already planning the next visit."

"I went here for a meal with my extended family, and had a wonderful time. We were made to feel very welcome, and given good recommendations for wine choices, and the chef went through the dishes with us. We had told them in advance and it was no problem at all for them to cater for a vegetarian within the group. The food was delicious, obviously home made, and very reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was great. I really recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back!"
