"I love the Lantern café and shop. It's a beautiful space, the food is good quality and reasonably priced. The shop has all sorts of interesting, tasty, beautiful things. Some from their own bakery, weavery, pottery and craft workshops, others from all around the globe as well as eco and holistic products. Well worth a visit and well worth supporting the social enterprise aspect as well."

"We called in for lunchtime drinks whilst at the Dudsbury golf course the pub was a few minutes walk down the road. Beer was excellent and staff very welcoming, would definately call back in when in area."

"Play loud music till the middle of the night. You could hear it a mile away. On walking to discover the source, came across dozens of residents from multiple streets standing at their front doors angrily questioning where the music was coming from. On confronting the management about their anti-social, late night, outdoor band that could be heard throughout half of Verwood, we were told that no one had objected to their application to play loud music for some beer festival.they we're hosting... As if all residents have the time to constantly check the council website to see what anti-social, selfish behaviour the local pub might be planning each week... They've lost numerous customers to this, as the residents kept awake have all stated they will never return or recommend."

"We've just had a single night at the Drover's Inn and we paid £90 for it. The room was not en-suite in the traditional sense but our room had its own bathroom along the landing. My wife said that she would feel uncomfortable using it in the night if other guests were there but on this occasion, no one else was staying. The room was clean and in good decoration and the bathroom was modern and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was clean. The room was advertised with breakfast included and it was, but it was a cold croissant, pot-noodle type porridge, two single serving cereals, yoghurt, juice and milk, just 250 ml of milk between the two of us. The milk, juice and yoghurt were kept cool in a tiny fridge about the size of a shoe box. This sat on a wicker chest of three drawers placed in the wardrobe, so you couldn't hang clothes up. There was no cooked breakfast offered so presumably, it was not available. From our experience of travelling a lot, this wasn't a £90 room, even considering that New Forest accommodation has a premium charge. By far the worst though was that it was the Saturday night of Halloween, but we couldn't avoid that. The rooms it transpired were over the bar area and there was live music planned. This started early in the evening and continued until 10-30pm. It was so loud that the floor vibrated and it was barely possible to hear the TV. After the live music stopped, a disco, or recorded music was played loudly until midnight, and by the time the final people had left, and the staff had cleared up, it was about one in the morning before we could sleep. We were tired after our trip so, with little sleep, we were exhausted in the morning. Now, I realise that pubs are struggling, and I can understand the need to maximise calendar events to boost funds, but I think that the responsible landlord should also consider their paying guests, and not offer the rooms for hire when such events are planned. If someone wanted to attend the event and stop over, it's for them to arrange with the landlord. So, a miserable experience in a nice, but overpriced room in my view."

"First visit in the local caffe of my work and it was very good. well cooked, good priced and friendly reception in a beautiful spacious caffe. a somewhat wider lunchtime selection would make it great, but that is picky, as breakfast is the thing."
