"Not sure how overall ratings are low but I had amazing time here which led me to visit this place twice in 3 days. First of all, ambiance is very relaxing which helps in easing in. Special mention to the staff who are delight to interact and very courteous. Coming to food, their house bread and dip combination is killing it. Apart from this, we've had Babycorn fingers which was served with balsamic vinegar dip...yum.....Thai red curry with rice, again a marvelous dish and Aubergine Parmigiana....good one. "With mixed bag of reviews I went in this place to satiate my pasta pangs. I wasn't impressed much. Tried two pastas to see if I was judging it on only one padta but both turned out average. <br>

It has a feeling of an old Italian restaurant and you can see the chef cooking. The restaurant looks quite appealing although the taste doesn't match the appeal for pasta. Aglio olio and macroni Mediterranean both fell short to achieve the level of taste they should have.<br>

"While anandha the gas house as hotel was great with nice rooms and friendly staff, the restaurant surabhi, where we were offered free breakfast was bad. that was probably the worst breakfast buffet I ever had. eating was bland, refilling was slow and service was simply rude. I would not recommend it just because it is free. it needs a lot of improvement."

"We visited this place to try some French dishes. It's like being in a grand palace, a restaurant with various seating areas - outside, AC restaurant and bar. We should even visit the innovative washroom here, which has a washbasin that can be operated on foot. Interesting! :) <br>

We wanted to try grilled calamari but it wasn't available. <br>
We ordered French onion soup - not sure if it is the authentic French soup but if so I would suggest not to try. It's just herbal water with sliced onions. The cheese crouton was moist and not tasty. <br>
Grilled Tiger Prawns with Lemon Caper Butter Sauce - There was a side of lemon risotto. The prawns were tasty, but the risotto was dry and tough. <br>
Tawa Fried Fish - It came with a side of mashed potatoes. Tasted hot and good. <br>

We visited La Villa for lunch while on an impromptu weekend trip to Puducherry. Originally intending to dine at Villa Shanti, we were directed to La Villa by the Villa Shanti crew, since there was no table available at the latter.Set in a bungalow reminiscent of the old French homes in Puducherry, La Villa serves continental cuisine, and a good selection of seafood dishes. The outdoor seating is recommended, since the area is shaded by trees, and the fans are always running; however, on a particularly hot day, I'd recommend sitting inside the bungalow.<br>

"Not a great place to be in a white city ... <br>
Food is ok, ok, service is slow too. The hotel is dimly lit and the ambience is poor. <br>
The pizza we ordered was really big ... pineapple and cheese based ... but very bland. <br>
Grape juice was ok ... but papaya was like milkshake and very bad ... <br>
