"Sunday 27th August 2023, My husband and I on our way back home returned via Stratford-on-Avon. My husband and I made a stop for coffee and cakes at 'The Lime Tree Restaurant ' in ‘Stratford Garden Centre’, where we indulged in large slices of coffee and walnut cake washed down with a pot of Darjeeling tea for my husband and a latte coffee for me. I also found inspiration here as I wrote a poem called ‘Back To Reality’. We also went round the farm shop to find something to eat for tea, as we did not want to go out again after returning back home. We then continued our journey back to Birmingham and arrived home ."

"We got a great deal on our room for a one night stay. the room was large, clean and comfortable. The wifi was free and reliable. We did not eat in the restaurant in the evening, but the breakfast was substantial and tasty. It could perhaps have been warmer. the staff were all friendly and helpful, from the receptionist to the cleaner. It was lovely to sit out in the beer garden on a warm spring evening and drink one of the best pints of Marstons Pedigree that I have had for sometime too. I would happily go back here"

"Such a bad meal and so expensive despite giving us 20% with no alcohol (as they were charging nearly £17 yes £17 for a glass of wine) the bill still came to nearly £50 per head The waiter started by saying that he needed to tell us about the specials but he didnt understand them and admitted he couldnt read them out to us he tried though and he was sweet but I dont think he had ever been a waiter before. Starter was mussels but instead we received a few tiny bullets of mussles that had been overcooked and were hard with a bowl of cream which was full of lardons. We were given no spoon to eat the broth (such as it was), or a bowl for the shells, or a finger bowl The main course was inedible. We thought we were getting the Short rib special but we received a rectangle of tough meat with a floppy spring onion laid over it and next to it was a pink lump which we couldnt identify nor could the waiter or waitress who tried. Maybe it was gammon that was it on the plate oh sorry apart from some yellow paste not sure what that was either but no vegetables or sauce and it was £28! It was inedible We had water plonked on the table which was charged at over £5 per bottle All in all a really appalling meal such a shame BUT AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS"

"The service was first class, friendly and attentive. The food was reasonably good too... the paté was sublime; proper, bacon-clad, chef 's 'rough ' patè as opposed to those pureed smooth offerings that tend to be what you find mostly these days. So I started on a real high with a superb dish. The confit duck leg to follow was a much more mixed experience... The duck itself was succulent, flavourful and worthy of its heritage. However... the sweet little duck leg had been abandoned on a sort of soup, presumably made up of the promised accompaniment of pancetta, peas, bread beans, croutons and frisée lettuce. Well... the lettuce had been rendered in this 'soup ' and none of the other ingredients were properly distinguishable... but the salt had been overdone to the point where it too should have been listed as an ingredient. I enjoyed my duck leg enormously but it would have been much enhanced by red cabbage, mash, root vegetables or roasted sprouts... any one of a number of preferable ingredients. There was some decent wine available though, and the duck itself was delicious, so the evening was saved by that... and the incredible patè of course."

"Tonight we ordered some food from the stratford on avon store with some friends, now we love eating here, but eating tonight was brilliant. it wasn't as fat as it is normally and everything was cooked to perfection! we all really enjoyed it tonight! the burger and pizza were on the spot! the chips and next orders were also amazing! we really enjoyed it, so thank you. we don't know what was done differently, but it was mocking."
