"The beaver is a small cafe/bar that is friendly to lgbtq. At night it is a bar that is often a hot local scene. but during the day they serve great food with little work. the brunch menu has some amazing elements. I get...Murders for her breakfast burrito is so good, with her suppen are incredible and the huevos rancheros is also great. there are unique baked French toast as well as served with real impact cream, maple syrup and berries. the menu is also very vegan / veggie friendly, with a tofu burrito. The large breaky is with a nasalate that is always fresh and tastefully dressed. it surprises me that this place does not have a line out of the door, but I am glad that there is a Sunday space for my friend and I. the drake and the gladstone seem to give more attention, probably for the hype and better decoration, but if they want great food for a great price, they do the beaver."

"I will preface this review by saying that I have eaten at this café before and really enjoy the food, particularly the "Turkey and Avocado" sandwich, which some with tomato, lettuce and is really yummy. But a few weeks ago, blood test results confirmed that I have a gut allergy to egg whites, wheat, sunflower oil and some other things.So this morning I met my son there to have a nice breakfast and I asked the waitress if she could basically give me a place of what they would put on the "Turkey and Avocado Sandwich onto a place and leave off the bread because of allergies. She replied "No I can't do that." So their entire menu except for a few sides (nothing I was interested in) is egg dishes and sandwiches. So I had to sit there and watch my son eat his breakfast while I ate nothing. I am also hypo-glycemic and this really screwed up my blood sugars today. The cafe only has about seven tables and the food is prepared right there in front of everybody, so the waitress and owner basically watched all this. There was no apology, no effort to help me try to find something I could eat, no accommodation whatsoever, except at one point the owner asked if I wanted a glass of water. I find this treatment disgusting and will not be going back ever. I have been to numerous restaurants since my test results that have been only too happy to accommodate my allergies, as they should. My request this morning was not because I am a fussy eater, it is a health risk."

"Enjoyable. Hmmm..reading the reviews after having been there, I'm not sure I would have stopped in. So, I'm glad I did. Just visiting Toronto, and I thought prices seemed VERY reasonable to me. I pay more for less at my neighborhood greasy spoon in Seattle. What I did find was a very warm greeting when I arrived. A seat at the counter, where hot/fresh coffee was served immediately. A very fresh/hot Irish Breakfast also served up quickly. I noted everyone was greeted warmly when they walked in, and the place filled up as I was there...counter included. Folks next to me and I'd say everyone else seemed to be enjoying their food as well. I'd go back in a flash."

"Went in the morning with 6 other girls and we were seated quite quickly. Most of us had been there before and enjoyed ourselves. The atmosphere is clean and cozy. They have a huge variety on there menu, all typical breakfast foods which are all affordable. The food is great, many girls got the Eggs Benedict and were pleased. I got the Smoked Salmon wrap which was great. I'd recommend visiting for a quick breakfast, I know I'll be back."
