"Currently on holiday and wanted to celebrate our Nieces 16th birthday. Menu is very limited, food was something I could have prepared at home but to a higher quality. Prawn salad was basically frozen prawns in a Marie Rose sauce with a bit of salad....Mushroom on toast was a piece of toasted bread ladled with sliced mushrooms in a very salty garlic sauce. Haddock and chips were ok but quite greasy and mushy peas were dry. Service was mediocre, had to keep asking staff for extra drinks, cutlery, sauce etc. I would avoid, quite expensive for the quality received, not good value for money."

"What a beautiful shop, fantastic for gifts.... Very friendly and helpful staff too. They have a beautiful selection of velvet bags, lots of interesting books to buy, and my favourites, bunnies and little fluffy animals made by Kelly cat. A fantastic shop to go into and browse, lots of Christmas items to purchase, and a wonderful coffee shop to pop into, once you have made your purchases."

"We visited Connor’s for dinner this weekend and had an excellent experience. Warm welcome on arrival and waiting staff very attentive and friendly. Bottle of wine was nice and our course meal was delicious. We waited around minutes for our starters but were...aware we had arrived at the same time as other tables and were enjoying ourselves at the table. Staff could have let us know apologised for the wait but that was only negative of the evening. Starters of Asian duck salad and toasted ciabatta with tomato and Brie were great. Main courses of salmon and prawn Thai red curry and scallops and black pudding were both exceptional. Great experience and will return when in Portpatrick!"

"My husband and I were travelling home from a break in Dumfries and stopped off in Moffat. We came across this lovely cafe which is also dog friendly. I had the smoked salmon Brie toastie which was really tasty and also served with salad,...coleslaw crisps. We both then had home made scones which must’ve been made whilst having lunch as they were brought to us hot and fresh. I must admit they were amazing! Water was also provided for our dog. The staff were very polite friendly. Would highly recommend this colourful quaint cafe and definitely worth the money."

"We eat here every year on our annual fishing trip. It has been taken over and unfortunately is not as good as it used to be. Under the old management you paid a set price for a three course meal which was actually a five...course. Upon arrival you would be served home cooked canapes with drinks in the lounge whilst you chose three courses from a set menu. After dinner you would be invited to the lounge fro coffee and petit fours. The service and food was excellent and good value. An experience not to be missed. Unfortunately our experience was quite poor this time. Upon arrival we were given a couple of bowls of home made parsnip crisps to have with our drinks not a patch on the canapes served in the past. We were then given a menu with starters ranging from £5-£10 and mains from £15-£28 with the vegetarian options being at the cheaper end of the scale. I found that I was choosing dependent upon price whereas with the old set menu I just choose what I fancied. A side of vegetables was £4 pounds which made my starter and main £32 before dessert and coffee and no canapes. Desserts are now £6.95 and coffee with petit fours extra. Don't get me wrong the chef has been retained and the food is still excellent but it is now over priced and the service was not as good. Every time we visited under the old management we left feeling pampered and satisfied. This time was not in the same league a great shame as it was one of our favourite places to eat.. Would we eat there again Probably Not!"

"Found this cafe after cycling the Laurieston to GofF road and then revisited a few times during our weeks holiday. The pecan pie was outstanding but then so was the treacle tart and the eggs Benedict. It’s a really good cup of coffee too!! There’s loads of space and it’s right by the big carpark so we did our bottle recycling at the same time."
