"The service was very attentive, quick and extremely friendly. I ordered the chicken tacos which were very flavourful and well cooked but I just wish I had been told about the addition of Cilantro. Probably my fault for not asking but lots of people have issues with Cilantro so it might be a good idea for staff to mention to their customers. The lunch was well priced and everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals."

"Fred, the man, is a trailblazer for Halifax. He has good instincts on all levels for turning people and places into things of beauty. FRED, the restaurant and the food epitomizes this. Who new that a bank could be turned into a wonderful place for art, beauty and food. You can tell by the details, as this is what I look at, that there is care in how the FRED experience is enjoyed. I go here for tea and lunches so this is what I can comment on. Tea is great, cupcakes are AMAZING, try the two bit cupcakes if you feel guilty which still come on a plate with a fork so you can pretend its a larger serving. The cupcake flavours are usually seasonal with some tasty and inconceivable flavour combinations.The salads are always delicious and fresh, the olive oil they use in their homemade dressings is from Greece. The paninis are excellent - I've tried most of them, and would love to see their meatloaf sandwich back on the menu in the winter! You won't be disappointed with the food. I agree with another poster that the service is usually slow. This would be the only area I see that needs improving. Always a great art exhibit every time I go as well."

"Picked up a 7' chocolate cake yesterday. It was delicious. Everyone loved it. Unlike store bought chocolate cakes that look like chocolate but lack the chocolate flavour this cake tastes like chocolate. Excellent service and price. Can't wait for my next celebration so we can enjoy another of your cakes!!!!"

"The food was fantastic, the portion was quite huge and the whole place is gorgeous.Although it indicated in the menu that there might be cross contamination, I asked for gluten free and vegan (to avoid lactose) and they were so careful! Even brought the gluten free bun on a separate plate in case I was vegan and did not feel comfortable with eggs touching my food.Honestly one of the best experiences I have had i a really long time eating out with a few food intolerances.Could never say enough good things about it, it is just absolutely FANTASTIC!"

"We brought tickets for the valentines dance with music by the melotones. Nine other friends joined us. We should have known there was going to be a problem when upon buying tickets wd could not reserve s table. To ensure seating My girl and I decided to arrive at 730 PM. 1.5 hours prior to thd dance start time to have dinner prior to the dance and get a table for us anx our friends. Upon arriving at thd bar the place was already full with no place to sit other than a few seat at the bar.We were disappointed indeed. We asked some folks sitting having dinner what time they had arrived. Ond table full told us they arrived at 6Pm, 3 hours prior to the dand start time. I asked a waitress if we could cash in our tickets and we would proceed to a different place but we could not. I have to say I would not arrive 3 hours in advance see even thd most famous bands in the world certainly not brewsters to see the meletones. Brewsters we are disappointed with your lack of concern for seating for the number of people you sold tickets to but that will never happen to us again,we will never be back to visit your bar ever again. Best of luck but I heard that comment many times during the evening at your event.We are not your biggest fan. We will not be back."
