"A successful restaurant is not just about good food, but a lot depends on great hospitality as well. On our recent visit to Goa we went to Martins at Margao. Conviniently located , this is one place you should never miss in your next visit to Goa.We began our evening with a great range of good looking cocktails. Blue Hazed Surf, Bloody Mary, Singapore Sling, White Russian of which our favourites were the Blue Hazed Surf. A great mix of cashew fenny, Curacao and lemonade and of course the Singapore Sling which was served the traditional way on crushed ice and soda. Absolutely refreshing. The meal that we enjoyed was a great mix of vegetarian and non vegetarian but of course non veg being the highlight. We started our meal withChorizo, the most softest and juciest pork with some twisted spices grilled what we refer to as “Way beyond perfection” Aloo Tikki which was a simple yet delicious potato based starter. Soft yet crisp. A great start. When in Goa one can't just ignore the Goan Sausage. A variety of dishes are made with this sausage which has a very rustic and local taste. Also when in Goa one can't stay away from fresh seafood. So our next gastronomical delight was the Goan Sausage stuffed Pomfret. Minced sausage stuffed in a well cooked fish. We enjoyed every bite of it.Prawns smothered with Goan curried spice and slow roasted to get the perfect consistency. The Goan Roast Prawn was indeed a blessing to all of us.Mexican chicken skewers were soft juicy chicken cooked in a Mexican sauce and served with some lip smacking dip. Did we need more of this? We sure did.Spicy cheese balls was another run of the mill. Simple yet tasty Drum stick sukhem was the best seller of the evening amongst the vegetarian options. We personally have never had such a preparation. Medium sized drumsticks cooked to perfection in a typical Goan curry. The softness of the drumsticks in a chunky onion and tomato based curry was one if our favourites.Next to arrive was the Lobster Sukha. A food lover would definitely go crazy eating this dish. Medium sized lobster cooked with aromatic spices. It was just melt in the mouth and throughly enjoyed by all. Also, Don’t forget to ask about their 3 Lobster for 1500/- deal.Cottage cheese steak was a complete meal of its own. Thick slices of cottage cheese grilled to perfection and stuffed with creamy spinach and served with some pan tossed vegetables. A fulfilling and healthy plate of goodness.Certain dishes are a class apart. Right I from the way they are plated to how they taste. The Norwegian Salmon on Cedarwood was one such dish.Fresh salmon rubbed with herbs and grilled slowly over cedar planks. Trust us, this would be one of the best salmon you'll would have ever put in your mouth. Guaranteed!!!Of all the plethora of mango desserts doing the rounds the Mango panacotta is our personal favourite. Delicious yet very light. Made us craving for more. The Chocolate brownie with coffee liquor and ice cream was no less amazing. Decedant chocolate brownie topped with coffee liquor was a combination made in heaven. Our meal came to an end and we were more than just satisfied. A mix of good food, great friends, lovely conversation and some foot tapping music. Isn't it this, that perfect evenings are made of?"
