"*Update* Issue was resolved, staff member who had issue no longer works there. Manager Ruth and Johnny sorted the problem and looking forward to going back. Really sad about latest visit. My group of friends and I come to the tavern twice a week to play board games. The staff know us and We've been coming twice a week since March. Everything we order drinks and food. We're spending a lot of money, but we like the environment and the place so it's not a problem. At the last visit a member of staff (Pete) threatened to throw me out because I had brought in some outside food. When I explained we happy to order food and drinks like we do every time. But the food you have doesn't meet my dietary requirements, again he told me I'd be asked to leave in an overly aggressive way. Really sad as we always buy food and drinks from the Tavern, but some of us do have dietary requirements and bring food from outside. Unfortunate to be threatened with being asked to leave after being regulars, twice a week for 6 months."

"I took my sister here as a birthday treat for their screening of La la land. The only good part of our night was the movie which they can 't take credit for. The food we ordered was attrocious! Cold burgers with over toasted stale buns. The dessert was a chocolate brownie, didn 't even taste of chocolate, and the ice cream was full of Ice crystals. The drinks, they were using 2 litre bottles of coke not a tap. It was flat and warm. The food took forever. All through the movie the 2 waiters (males) were using there phone as torches and walking across the screen and asking people if they were a table number. The toilet. Don 't even get me started this is long enough already. When I messaged the bar on Facebook the admin was so rude. Flat out refused to believe my experience saying the waiter was a bit blind and the food is good When I went into detail he aggressively 'apologised ' using capital letters."

"Beautiful pub only a minute walk away from Tower Bridge reached after avoiding all the tourist traps on the way. Food was delicious, the place was homey and the service was lovely. A nice lady welcomed us and took our orders. Prices were also totally fair. English people (so not only tourists) were also eating here. Definitely recommend if you want to try some good local food without being ripped."

"Mixed feelings. a smart looking caffe, in which the freshly baked brot has pulled me in the window. calm and pleasant interior and some tempting cakes and sandwiches on the display, but the coffee was tangy, the tables dirty and the service only boring not rude, but no warm, charming or attentiveness also. coffee lasted 15 minutes to come after ordering. ok, I assume for cake and wifi, but order tee instead."

"Here's a great treat of a place if you live or work anywhere near London Bridge or Tower Hill. One of my favourite lunching spots during the working week is a fantastic little shop called Absolutely Starving. I first found it when my university flatmate used to work there during the summer and purposely told us never to come in as he didn't want to be caught wearing the bright orange uniform and hat. Obviously if someone tells you this your going to do it and so we did. However when we arrived we weren't even fussed with him once we saw the amazing array of food on offer here! Absolutely Starving is like an Aladdin's Cave of food, with lots of different options to enjoy for your break from the daily grind. Located just up from London Bridge tube station and a short walk from Tower Bridge this is in a perfect location for a lunch time jaunt. With my office just across the bridge, it is all too tempting to come and feast upon the delicious goods that await inside instead of frustratingly tucking into another homemade salad! My favourtie thing about Absolutely Starving is the amazing hot roast baguettes they produce. The choices are literally mouth watering and I always end up holding up the queue to decide. With options of Chorizo Sausage, Pequillo Pepper Rocket; Salt Beef, Gherkin Mustard; Belly of Pork Apple; or Roast Chicken with Sausage Sage Stuffing, you can see why it's such an important decision. It is prepared in front of you too and to your requirements! If you are not feeling the hot roast baguettes then they do a fine selection of hot soups, toasted wraps and even thai curry, noodles, risotto and pasta! There's something for everyone and what's more, even though they are placed slap bang in the middle of a busy corporate environment, the lunchtime rush is handled extremely efficiently. There is also a delicious array of baked goodies too, to entice even the most disciplined of sweet tooth's. I always fall for the Chocolate Brownie with White Chocolate Chunks. It's perfectly gooey and soft just how brownies should be and more importantly, not a single trace of nuts! You can even pick up a few extras for home whilst your there as their shelves are stacked with preserves, special blend coffee, cooking ingredients and more. I went for my favourite, the Salt Beef and Mustard on a delicious multi seed baguette. I hurried back to the office quickly and then proceeded to gorge on the most delicious salt beef that simply melts in the mouth. I am a huge fan of this fine meat and it doesn't taste any better than when accompanied with some rocket and a healthy helping of mustard, wrapped up in a warm soft baguette. If you're reading this and feeling peckish in the London Bridge area what are you doing? Get down to Absolutely Starving already!! You know you won't be satisfied with that healthy soup or salad you brought from home, pretending to be good! Absolutely Starving won't let you down and feel free to send a brownie my way too as a small thank you for replacing that working day frown with a big foodie grin! Enjoy! We The Food Snobs x"
