"We had afternoon tea, the cakes were plates of cakes all very nice, but not really what you expect for an afternoon tea. The service was nice and friendly a table arrived with small children and the noise level increased significantly. However, a beautiful place and service."

"Last year booked for 70th birthday and was so impressed that I booked for it again this year. I write this review on the basis of the two visits to be fair to the place, as they had some problems this time. seemingly they had a kind of flut, so their pumps were out and only one of an on-the-bar barrel and fizzy drinks had from a bottle. because only one of us was drinking alcohol and was satisfied with the ale, that was ok, but the other drinks were flat and warm. previous visit was however 100.% no problems, so is normally accepted, would be in order and we had only bad luck. the food was excellent both visit with taking the mushrooms in the mushroom sauce with the chicken sauce, they were really hard and I had to leave them. my only other comment to eat is that the menu this year has not changed and maybe is somewhat limited. the service was good. both paintings there was only one person from the front, but as it is a hotel, he was also the receptionist. both of us visited for a 19:00 table we were the only ones in the restaurant, but the keerl often had to deal with 10-15 minutes in the hotel, so we had to wait for more drink. I think it would have been more people in the restaurant. the guy this time was new to the job so was a bit slow, but the previous time there was no waiting despite the man alone. the whole building is built 13th century with bits on the last 4500 years. yes, there is a bit of skeleton that holds a bar in the bar area, but apart from that it is really amazing how good it is all. last year the receptionist gave as a "guide tour" and could explain exactly what and when. it is a really interesting place, unfortunately we had forgotten most of it and this time the type did not know so much, but after 4 weeks in the work, he had clearly taught much. overall it may be a little overpriced, but I will be back next year."
