"Decided to eat here one night as we were staying in the adjacent apartments. I chose the seafood risotto - mussels, king prawns, scallops - all mentioned in the menu description. Lovely green lipped mussels, and king prawns but no scallops. I should've mentioned it to them but we had to wait quite a while to order, so didn't want to have to wait again for my meal. Both our meals were nice but the service was very slow.... there was only us, another table of 3 and a table of 1. I'd hate to see how they coped on a busy night!!"

"Tree Eighty3 is a cute little spot tucked away in an arcade. It has a few seating options. The brekky is also versatile. My friend and I opted for the simple eggs and bacon roll which you can have with any type of bread. I had mine with sourdough. It was yummy and very filling! Wouldn't mind coming back to try a few other bits and pieces."

"Had the pedlars big breakfast. The scrambled eggs were proper scrambled eggs and the Pialligo bacon is old school. The avocado on the plate had awesome flavour and tied the meal together and was light and refreshing. Highly recommended. I will be back again and again."

"With ten of us coming in, we let the chef choose the menu for us, and were so glad we did. An Argentine/Spanish fusion with the odd eclectic bit tossed into the amazing salads and awesome lamb, pulled pork or enchiladas. Great service, good wine selection and terrific atmosphere, The Elk and Pea proves that Canberra eateries can have real soul and heart."

"An unexceptional breakfast with coffee that was one of the worst in town. So, so disappointed. Have given this potentially fantastic venue two chances now having tried dinner last week... had to go and ask for service from one of the 5 staff having a confab behind the bar. We were one out of two tables dining (same this morning). Won't be back."

"I have eaten the trend at my last visit in the hamlet and ordered a carving from a bratwurstplatz. I'm rolling. it was probably my best decision of the day – the brathaus is one of the newer additions to the hamlet and offers seductive sausage and carving in German style. "The Alley Bar & Grill is located in the Pacific Suites Canberra and many of it's clientele are guests staying at the apartments above, although you don't have to be a hotel guest to dine here.We visited four times during our stay in Canberra (three breakfasts and one dinner).Breakfast is a buffet that includes fruits, yoghurts, cereals, pastries, toast plus bacon, sausages, mushrooms, baked beans, scrambled eggs and hash browns. There is also a coffee machine and juices and water available. The food was of a good standard although during busy times, there was a small delay before empty bain-marie's were replaced. There were only two wait staff rostered on the mornings we visited which wasn't enough during busy periods.We were very happy with the quality of the food we had at dinner and the servings were huge. Unfortunately we found the menu a little poorly written. The Philly Cheese burger made no mention of what type of meat it was (it was beef), and the Butternut Pumpkin Ravioli was just listed as Butternut Pumpkin which meant we had to ask what it was. The people on the table next to us were just as confused so maybe this is something that could be looked at. Once again, for most of the night there was only one waiter on (the other was busy delivering room service orders), so service was quite slow at times. Upon leaving we were disappointed that the free drink and dessert that were supposed to be included as part of our child's kids meal deal had been billed to our account separately. Fortunately this was rectified without issue.I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here if I wasn't a hotel guest, but The Alley is a great addition to the apartments and caters for all ages and tastes adequately."

"This was my second visit to this cafe on the previous occasion I was disappointed with the dinner I had but there seems to have been a change in Management and I had a great breakfast here. Service was spot on and nothing was...too much trouble."
