"Caniço is not in the main city of Funchal so let’s be clear from the start.. you’re staying in a hotel centric neighbourhood outside the biggest town on Madeira… but I had no issues with this hotel, and in fact, actually really enjoyed the stay… A spacious room with spacious [SEA VIEW] balcony, small kitchen area as part of the room/studio… the hotel staff were AMAZING! Absolute above and beyond in terms of service… we booked our covid tests for return home on their suggestion… done in the hotel, for €20 each! So explain to be BoJo why the F this is £170 back in the UK! The hotel offers a Monday to Friday shuttle into Funchal for €3 each, breakfast was part of our booking and worth it for the tiny difference in cost… all you can eat buffet!! Location wise is great, rooms are good… it’s not 5* so quit yer moaning! You get what you pay for… outdoor sea water pool was good, loungers are great, the views great, local bars great… seeing England lose to a Italy Priceless!! I would recommend and will certainly be back! Only downside is as follows: my room (212) just off the main reception has a leaky shower that likes to flood the bathroom… but we had towels to soak it up and they dried on the balcony… and praise the good lord for the air con! Thanks to all staff… a great hotel!!"

"This restaurant deserves no single star. I was there in september, there were hardly any guests at 20 o'clock. the waiter took a long time to come. Finally, we could order. after a while he came back with the information that the court ordered. we ordered again. in the meantime, at least the drinks had arrived. then we waited and waited. Finally I went to the load and asked for the order. to have forgotten, until he finally agreed. forget it! with a maximum of 5 restaurant guests are included with us. if I read how bad this is, I can be happy after that. we left. was something offered as an excuse? for example the drinks not charged? or at least a coffee offered free of charge? No, just a laughing, schooling suffering. every restaurant, really every (I was with all) that are close to a thousand times better. If you still want to go here and spend your money, it's really your own fault. if they have had a good experience in the restaurant, a tipp of me: better not press their luck next time. you are playing madeiran roulette."
