"*We were at this restaurant quite a while ago and should have posted this sooner.*Hope they have improved.So many things are so disappointing about this bistro.We'll start with the rude staff as we entered. We didn't have a reservation and would have been fine being turned away. We just happened to be strolling by. They acted as if we were terribly inconveniencing them with our presence. Service was in general unprofessional and clumsy at time chaotic.We were seated at a small table for two near the stairs which was absolutely fine.The place is nice enough, minimalist and industrial. I liked it.We placed our orders. Olives came cold and in solidified olive oil. Charcuterie was delicious. Bread was good.I ordered scrambled eggs with black Truffle. Which I apparently had 4 grams of. I'm guessing the scale was partially on the napkin on the other side where I could not see. I'm a cook. In the industry for 10 years. I know what 4 grams of truffel look like.But it was my mistake for not correcting him to begin with.They left our glasses of empty wine on our table when they brought us new glasses (a small table as well.) Clearing was clumsy (still didn't take glasses.) My husband and I just waited to see if it would ever happen. It didn't.Then when they got busy they completely ignored us. And before we could order dessert he came and asked if we would like the bill.I asked if there was another reservation for this table tonight and he said no. When we cleared up that we had not even ordered dessert and a slightly embarrassed look from him not really an apology we said we just wanted the bill and left. The bill was obviously rediculous compared value. Service and food wise.Food was unspectacular and gnocchi was over cooked and the rest unmemorable. Scrambled eggs and truffel was delicious but you would have to be completely incompetent to mess scrambled eggs up as a cook.Overall would not recommend and would not go back. There are so many other great restaurants in Vienna. Check them out instead."

"We went to "GUSSHAUS" for dinner on a hot summer evening. we had made a reservation, but weren't offered the option to sit on one of the tables outside; it would have been a little uncomfortable on the moderately busy street anyway.inside, the main restaurant has no windows, which is a little claustrophobic, but the interior looks ok. service is between brisk and brusque, not exactly charming.we had high expectations for the food, as mr.petz, the chef and owner is quite famous in local foodie circles, and is said to be also very accommodating and imaginative regarding veggie options.starters were quite good, a red pepper/aubergine terrine and a small portion of asparagus, which at 17.- euro is ridiculously expensive. as a main dish, the only (!!!) veggie option were green beans with buttered bread crumbs, a tiny portion, but boy were they soaked in butter and therefore extremely heavy. not ideal for a summer dish, if you are hungry and actually a real let-down.tarte tatin as a dessert was also small and buttery, not very tasty, disappointing actually.maybe the aficionados of kidney, liver and tripes will continue to rave about this supposedly "down to earth" cooking, but I would habe expected more."

"We tried the edvard in the frame of the Nespresso weeks. three courses at a reasonable price, also a wine tasting was offered.The atmosphere in the local is pleasant-elegant, the tables stand at a pleasant distance and offer private sphere, you feel comfortable. the young staff is highly motivated, friendly and very professional, you are best cared for.Even at the highest level are the foods. already the small greetings from the kitchen were elaborate and thought out, from our menu sequence we were brightly excited, although the main dish (for a three-course menu) was a very small portion. the wines served for this purpose (aperitif and a glass white and red at € 28,-) were also very well selected.We are very glad that we finally gave ourselves a jerk to taste the edvard. it stands on our list for the next special occasions now at the top and we can highly recommend it."

"Really disappointing. the place is beautiful, the service is great, but I don't remember a worse meal (definitiw one that costs 90 euro, not including wee, water or coffee.) maybe because its holy evening, perhaps itss, because there are so many people, maybe it's more common. chef, but that was terrible. the beet soup was in order, the main meal was either a hard piece of bark, or some completely dry cod without sauce. it was all so expensive we tried to force us to finish...and in such a one I always swore to finish my plate, but I just couldn't. really terrible. the dessert was a bit better, chocolate soaps and tiramisu (and cream that looked out and tasted like it was sprayed from a dose). This is a wonderful hotel- we are guests and the hotel gets a 5-star review- but the meal is really terrible."
