"On 16th July we visited Pordenone, a medieval city in the North East of Italy. It is a wonderful place and has a large outdoor market that was the best place for the purchase of a new Italian leather handbag. The Campanile is a tall bell tower at the end of a fashionable city centre street that has arcades and many cafes. Close to the Campanile in vicolo del campanile is the Al Campanile restaurant It was Saturday lunch time and the place was busy with couples and families. We sat outside on one of the small, well-presented tables in the cool surroundings. We just had two bowls of Spaghetti Carbonara and my wife had a large glass of local white wine. (I was driving so it was just sparkling water for me! The food was very good and we will return to try some of the other items on the menu such as the local San Danielle prosciutto and wonderful cheeses. The young lady waitress was attentive and assisted us, as a couple of foreigners. The owner and chef were impressive guys and looked pleased at my attempts to thank them for the good food. Great place to eat “home cooking” type Italian food. Thanks!"
