"The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well."

"We arrived at this establishment and got seated relatively quickly. The Christmas decorations were very well thought out and looked great. It took a few minutes to get a server, Shelby. She was nice and attentive and relatively helpful. Food didn 't arrive too quickly, but it wasn 't horribly slow either. When we received our appetizers, the wonton tacos were a little soupy, but the mozzarella sticks were ok. When entries came, my medium-rare steak came out more like medium well and was a little chewy. Other than that the waffle fries were good and so was the broccoli. My meal was discounted, which I think is an acceptable was to account for the issue. My main issue stems from the time it took to actually have the waiter come receive the check. It seemed as though she had forgotten about us. It got to the point where we had to walk to the bar and have someone take our check. TLDR: my main issue was speed. Getting the order taken and getting the check paid for were very unnecessary slow processes. Other than that the service was good."
