"Anniversary dinner with my girlfriend. It was beautiful. I took a star off for ambience as it was a touch on the old fashioned traditional dining for me, ie a bit quiet and formal. But really high class in terms of venue, food and service. Prices are fully in line or even a shade over London which I felt was a little much but not enough to spoil the evening."

"Awful customer service on our visit. Had to request staff twice to remove dirty plates! Had to go and ask what puddings! One option available. Sebastian confirmed candles would be added for a special touch. This didn’t happen. Will not be recommending or returning."

"We live locally and having read all the positive buzz about Sam Jaks in town, we decided to give their newer set-up The Plough in Stratton a go. From start to finish, we couldn 't have been less impressed as absolutely everything was mediocre. The surroundings, the decor, the service, and the table settings are underwhelming, and the menu choices are limited and overpriced. At £14, my beef carpaccio starter was little more than a couple of slivers of beef in a mustard-type dressing and their £17 fish and chips was 'bog standard ' and unremarkable. We eat out regularly and feel blessed to be surrounded by many great restaurants and wonderful dining pubs. Sadly, The Plough is neither."

"I have visited 4 times this year for breakfast and every time has been lovely. Excellent location right by the lake. Dog friendly. Lovely breakfast menu. Great service. Recommended to book. Parking on your doorstep. My daughter took part in water-skiing(pre bookable) which we could watch from the terrace. Will visit again Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Had lunch with friends recently at this old high street pub, which has bee extended out the back to provide a very large restaurant in about three/four different areas. The food was very acceptable and with generous proportions on a sunny day the OH and I went for chicken caesar slad which was plentiful and tasty. Good drinks selection, nice atmosphere all in all., what's not to like in this place"
