"We took visitors to see the town. Having gone to this place many times before we thought it might be ok. Our food was cold .. cheese not melted in lasagna, my curry dish I could not even cut into the rice with a knife. When the new young owner came over he explained that he was new to the business. Hire a cook not 10 of your friends in your kitchen and if you have an open kitchen don't let your cooks drink beer at 9 at night so your guests can see!! Stay away until these kids sell it . What a mess!"

"I'm from Victoria BC and each year I visit Ontario I always make it here for dinner. I tell my BC friends and customers (used to work in a restaurant) they have to come here if they were visiting Collingwood. Each family member of mine has their own personal favourite dish, but my favourites are the lamb, ANY fish dish and the tiramisu and mousse. A family owns the restaurant and are directly involved in each service, with Mario (the chef) personally greeting each table during the meal. He even poses for photos In a nutshell, you MUST go here. Wish we had something like this in BC. Collingwood is very lucky."

"My association with and love of the Blue Mountains/Niagara Escarpment goes back decades, long before the condominium and resort development boom hit Blue Mountain Resorts where one finds the Sunset Grill. I can find beauty in wonderful crimson sunsets over Georgian Bay as well as...beauty in well-presented and plentiful breakfast plates. The latter, I was served at the Sunset Grill yesterday after a friend invited me to breakfast. I mention my historical attachment to the area because I can remember when the Village at Blue, which is now the people-pulsing heart of Blue Mountain Resort, was just an open field adjacent to an ever-growing ski hills. Now, the Sunset Grill is as much an asset to this resort as are the many things that beckon to out-of-towners and visitors alike. Arriving at the front door to the Sunset Grill we were checked for vaccination proof. I totally agree with this and it was the first time my plasticized vaccination card was used. It worked! Additionally, my identification was reviewed and accepted. We were shown to a table in a restaurant that was about one-quarter full at a.m., on a weekday. I am certain that things would be busier on a weekend because that's when the resort gets busier overall; especially as covid restrictions lift. A friendly server asked about drinks and we received our coffees within minutes. As we reviewed our menus, I saw that one staff member was constantly walking throughout the restaurant picking up and taking away used dishes and cutlery as soon as customers left their tables. Another staff member was busy cleanng. Good to see! We ordered our breakfasts, focusing on items from Sunset Grill's favourites. It seems that the norm is that almost everything comes with three eggs. Just let them know how you want the eggs done. Also, you can order a split to go with your eggs. A split means not just bacon and not just sausage. You can have some of each, so I did. Breakfast was served hot and not long after we ordered it. I have visited the Sunset Grill before and the service was just as excellent then as it was now. My friend and I sat and chatted for quite a while, as coffee was refilled. No pressure to leave as the restaurant was filling up. People were waiting to come in, as we were leaving. It's a fact, we shall return."

"Great food and service. they had a very busy day, but the staff was attentive and made great recommendations. had made a nice lunch with in the house tortilla chips and dive and then we had both brisket bowls. they were also very accommodating for an allergy. our lunch was outside in the terrace which is well shaded with trees and a beautiful little oasis. highly recommended!"

"This is just another McDonald's. The difference between this location and others is the manager. The young lady working as the manager on the morning of December 3rd was very attentive to our needs. Every employer would be lucky to have an employee like her. Congratulations McDonald's."

"I'm gluten and lactose intolerant:(. Anywhere that I can go to get a gluten free sandwich or treat and a coffee with almond milk especially a quaint one like this gets 5 stars from me. The service is great. They don't speak starbuckian which is refreshing and they sell pottery :)"

"We are residents of the area and have patronized this establishment many times of the years. It is the only Chinese buffet restaurant in the area and when it opened it served a niche of people who like the buffet experience. Unfortunately, this will be my family's last visit to this restaurant. The food was bland and some of the items were stale or overcooked. The bathroom facilities were unclean. We weren't very concerned as our meal was mostly covered by a gift certificate. Upon presentation of our gift certificate, management declined to honour the $50 value (which was given to us from a relative in 2015). Apparently the gift certificate was issued by a third party marketing agency the restaurant had used and had used the wrong colour of logo. Management said there was an expiry date of 6 months to use the gift certificate and that it was now null and void. Gift certificates under the consumer protection laws have no expiry dates. Management agreed that they shouldn't have added an expiry date but one was listed. Instead, they offered to rebate our meal by 25% ($13). Despite protesting our unjust treatment, we paid for our meal and left vowing never to return. Management said they had no choice. We believe they had a duty to honour the gift certificate.As someone who worked in the service industry, the customer should never had had to deal with a restaurant's issues with a third party marketing firm.If you are looking for a great Chinese buffet restaurant - travel to Barrie, ON to the Mandarin Restaurant and you'll pay the same price for better service, food and management."
