"We attended this place on a Saturday and it was extremely crowded. We had been to a Wetherspoon's before, so we were not surprised by the diverse menu and the fact that one has to order at the bar. The place was extremely large and as it was so crowded, it was slightly difficult to find somewhere to sit. The person who brought our food to us was very polite. We were served quite quickly and this person seemed really nice. The problem was that my partner's food looked slightly overcooked, to the point where the cheese adhered to the dish. He explained to a member of staff what had transpired and asked for another plate of food. When the new plate of food arrived, it was evident that someone had just stirred the contents of the plate and it was not a new plate of food. The person who assisted was polite about it. It is not that great when one raisies an issue about food, only for the same one to be returned. It is not often that my partner returns plates of food. The members of staff made a concerted effort to rectify the matter."

"Came to have breakfast on Friday. As a matter of fact, they had reduced the breakfast menu to make sure they could meet the demand a day. However, we thought it would be really disappointing (and rather cheeky! to load the same amount as normal for a Veggie breakfast... but one of the most important ingredients removed. With only tomatoes, mushroom spinach and egg as veggie breakfast is a really bad choice. Very subdued visit and although we regularly visit, I think we will miss it for a while."

"Travelled to Alton from Midlands to visit family and booked lunch. This was the second time we have eaten at the French Horn and again we were not disappointed. Food was very nice and good value. The young Waitress that served us was very pleasant...and nothing was to much trouble. Will most certainly book again on our next visit to family"

"Went on a Friday night for cocktails. We had to wait a while for our drinks order to be taken, and eventually asked to sit in the courtyard as the inside bar area felt like a hotel lounge. We were never asked again if we wanted any more drinks so we left. It's a very quiet restaurant/bar. Great for romantic/cosy meals for two but not if you fancy a cocktail and a bit of mischief! Upper middle class dining experience. Would go back if I wanted a fine dining experience."
