"We ate breakfast here. It was delicious & we are from NY. The bagels are freshly made and they offer a nice plate to eat it on. They provide a smooth spreader to apply the cream cheese. This is the best bagel place in Montreal that we tried."

"Amazing sandwiches though you'll probably have your best on any day other than Sunday as it's really busy which tends to lessen the quality of the food (ex. Not a decent amount of sauce compared to other days), also do watch out for the line it's loosely regulated (you'll see on a Sunday when you get an entitled Karen)."

"I liked the two floors and the nice relaxed ambiance ,wher young and can rub shoulders.Young people doing homework with their schoolmates !My peeve is with the limited food stuffs offered.Not much effort is given in this area.I presume this is due to lack of demand,although ,I would have enjoyed a nice peice of fresh cake or some other tasty desert that goes well with hte excellent coffee choices."

"This place is dated.I asked twice for my food to be prepared a certain way. It wasn't. I was told that the cooks were advised but the cooks don't always listen to what they are told. Add some fingers going through my food to see if it was correctly prepared and I am not impressed."

"This is a place for people who like pasta....a lot of pasta a lot.Choice is overwhelming. Plates copious, enough to share.Drinks well done....One big issue....very, very loud.....you will have to scream to be heard on your own table.I am not sure this can be improved.Decent wine list.....full price range and regions/varietals for every pairing on their menu. Pastas can be over-cooked, you should specify how you like yours."

"We had gone to L'Academie on Boul. St Jean a few years ago and had found the food to be extremely underwhelming. Jump ahead a few years: My sister's surprise party was held there on June 2nd. The food was outstanding, and the service was great. Paul was really looking forward to going back. We returned tonight on one of our rare dates. The food was exactly as bad as our first meal there. My veal didn't taste fresh, the side vegetables were doused in some salty spices and the pasta was DRY. Seriously. It was supposed to be pasta aglio e olio, except they were just dry lol. Someone forgot something. My husband ordered the same dish he had ordered last week: veal tortellini with rosé sauce, but it didn't taste the same at all. It tasted like frozen noodles...Let's be honest. I can understand the food being a miss. No big deal I suppose. It happens. However how it's dealt with makes all the difference in the world. I told the waiter the quality wasn't even close to what it had been for my sister's party and that it was unfortunate, especially after it had been so great last week! He replied that he'd speak to the manager. The waiter came back a while later and said, "I spoke to the manager. There's not much we can do. I guess we'll keep an eye on it. But that's about it". I just said, "ok". But what I was really thinking was, " seriously?!". I'm FLOORED. "Albeit a bit pricey, the food here was very good! We had the veal, Tuna, and Salmon entres, and enjoyed them. The atmosphere was excellent, and service was very good. Staff was very knowledgeable and was able to make suggestions."
