"The food was incredible! The staff were so friendly! The owner even sat with me and my pup on the deck and chatted through my meal! What a special place! The history is fascinating and the woman who is responsible is someone to be revered!!Did I mention the food was incredible?The baked brie was amazing!! The cilantro pesto haddock was awesome! Best haddock I've ever had! So flaky and tender!The welcome my dog and I received meant so much we've been camping for weeks and had been hiking all day. And we looked as much. Yet we were welcomed fully and treated so well!These are good folks and again.... Great food!!"

"Excellant pita sandwiches. Wonderful presentation! Really fresh vegetables Unfortunately the waiter was gruff and curt . Didn't care for his dermier at all. "We stopped at Brandon Laura's Cafe in Southwest Harbor for lunch. It was a small café where the locals hang around. Loren ordered the Schellsandwich with the salad bar. This was the best tasting Schellfisch we had all vacations. It was perfectly cooked and delicate. We were both impressed with how delicious it was. I went for the mushroom burger with onion rings."

"This is a fantastic jewel in Acadia, not to be missed. We cannot remember eating a better meal in ages. There is nothing on the menu that is an afterthought. Maureen is deliberate in making sure each dish is prepared with skill and the flavor profiles were dead on. A basic salad was anything but. Local treasure Beech Hill Farm provides the foundation for a lot of the produce and then Maureen takes it next level. The tuna melts in your mouth. Our group had the chicken (excellent), halibut (a thick steak that is delicate and delicious) and the gnocchi was so good my husband shed a tear when it was done (ok, sort of kidding. But he was still talking about it a few days after). The desserts are no joke so do NOT pass. Go for the brulee, the chocolate mousse (outstanding and I don't even like chocolate or mousse), and the ginger chocolate cake if they are on the menu. If they aren't then just trust them and get whatever they recommend. I swear nothing will be a mistake. We will be back this is the kind of place you should go out of your way to visit."
