"Wow! What a find. We stumbled upon this place our first night in Tonala and were so happy with the food and personalized attention by the owner, that we went back a second time! First night, I ordered off the menu and got the pesto...pasta It was very good as was the Italian wine that was recommended. The second time there, we had another pleasant chat with the chef Who not only remembered us but remembered what each person had eaten two nights earlier! He asked what we liked and said that he could make anything we wanted. We ordered off menu and it was fabulous. I ordered another pasta but this time I asked for tomatoes, eggplant, spinach and mushrooms. It was wonderful. If you like pizza and/or pasta dishes, you won't be disappointed. He also offers very nice salads!"

"This is our new favorite restaurant in Guadalajara area. We went shopping in the Tienguis market in Tonala and hot lunch here. The carne is su jugo was delicious and the other menu items we tried were great too! Nice atmosphere and great service too!"

"I give this restaurant an easy #1 for Brreakfast, Lunch, or and Early Dinner- they close at 4pm. After going there for late lunch and having the most delicious torta (sandwich) made of Homemade B-B-Q, and sharing a stuffed Potato with a friend- I could not wait to get back here for Breakfast!!! Usually , I take photos of all my food- but we devoured everything so quickly- sorry no photos!!! The coffee was OUTSTANDING! Fresh squeezed juices and fresh fruit liquidos (Fruit water) were Incredible! We ate 2 lunches and 2 breakfasts there. It was 2 doors down from Hotel Arana (convenient), had the nicest, most helpful staff you could ask for, had a gorgeous garden setting- private and protected from the road and traffic. The owner Bernardo, is one of the kindest gentlemen you will meet and his son drives an Uber car which we hired on the last day for a sightseeing tour of Lake Chapala as well as a ride to the Airport. He was polite, beautiful car, wonderful tour guide, and what a helper with our overstuffed luggage! Do yourself a huge favor and go to A La Lena- great food, great price, and most of all Great People!!!"
