"Needed a break from schnitzels and happened on this Greek restaurant in downtown Berchtesgaden. Great traditional Grek food and great service... view over the valley is exceptional. Was one of the kids' favorite meals on this trip."

"We had read 'foxbox17's' review and it convinced us to try Istra out, and boy are we glad we did! She was absolutely correct about there being a small language barrier (but everyone was friendly and we worked right through it), and it was great to have the warning about not having a menu and there just being water and wine. Which was fine with us because it made a perfect dinner! We had a seafood platter with fish, prawns, calamari, and vegetables; and it was delicious. We truly enjoyed the wine and the food so much, the atmosphere was lovely, and to top it all off, it was so reasonably priced. I would recommend Istra to anyone and would definitely go back if I find myself in Berchtesgaden again."
