"I have always driven and walked past Sotano but never been! So today I was happy to finally arrive when I had a meeting here! There were 3 of us and we had 6 tapas to share -short rib beef, delicious -pork belly which was exquisite and my favorite -calamari, really tasty -halloumi which was so tasty and had been char grilled a bit -sirloin steak, also delicious and the mustard sauce with it was amazing -lamb koftas, good All in all I had a really fantastic lunch, the vibe and setting was great, service good, bit on the slow side, and I will be back!"

"Restaurant is well decorated, great location and nice ambience. Food at this particular ocean basket is a cut above the rest in my opinion, I have yet to be disappointed by any dish I have ordered here. Calamari 3 ways being my favorite. Service has always been quick at this branch."

"Good take out spot at R45 for hake and chips or a couple's special for only R75 which includes calamari. Portions are big and owner very friendly. Only downside is that they close early."

"What a beautifully relaxed ambiance with a view of the commons /farm village lawns where children and young couples play and bask in the sun. There were families filling what appeared to be all the tables and it seemed full and my husband and I were ravenous and disheartened that we wouldn't get space and would have a long wait before getting service...this was not the case...we were seated outside and brought our chilled white wine within minutes...And the food...well let's just say that tasting their shroom Burger should be on every vegetarian and meat eaters culinary bucket list!!!"

"Very upmarket shopping venue. The usual suspect stores are all here plus the high end luxury stores which are not so easy to find. Reasonable selection of restaurants and the more market like stalls are also present outside. Loads of boat and helicopter tour stands along the actual dockside. Must visit venue when coming to Cape Town. Fantastic views of table mountain in the background."

"I went in for a quick burger meal for lunch with a friend. Service is quite efficient and the meal arrived in a reasonable time. Burgers, chips and baked potatoes were excellent, certainly one of the best, if not the best, supplied by any local restaurant chain. Towards the end of the meal I found the service a bit wanting though. Yes, the manager and waiter did inquire if the food was good at some point during the middle of the meal. When it came towards paying it was difficult to attract the attention of staff. Our waiter was involved in a discussion about something with the manager for some time and the needs of the diners seemed to have fallen off the radar. I would rather staff were attentive at least most of the time, if not all the time, than come and ask about the quality of food when diners still have a mouth full of it. We went to the front desk to pay. I asked the waiter to add on an amount for the tip as a pen was not supplied for adding in the tip. Now, when paying for a meal I don't really like to discuss the total amount of a meal in front of my guests so I think it's really appropriate for staff to provide a pen for filling in tip amounts. The waiter, however, concocted his own amount as a total. Yes, they didn't complain when I pointed out that the final figure was different form what it should have been taking into account the added tip but it made me feel uncomfortable pointing this out in front of my guest. If a member of staff had been around and a pen supplied with the bill this would have been avoided. But overall, I should say the meal was excellent and this mishap was an oversight which hopefully doesn't happen too frequently."
