"The first time we went with eight people on a Friday night and it wasn't so busy. The food was very good and they gave us a big table back. Nobody rushed to go. We stayed about three hours a little hard to find, not in the main part of Newark, but the food and service were both good."

"Great food, well seasoned, adequately priced, and bigger than expected portions. Good beer selection, too. There was a live band that was a bit too close to the tables and a bit too loud, but it didn't take away from the experience too much. We'll be sitting inside next time."

"To eat at Stone Balloon and our waiter is Peter. His customer service is PHENOMENAL. He is so aware of the menu and what works well together. My partner didn't know what to choose beer to put his acquired taste, but Peter quickly called him a beer he enjoyed! He gave great advice and recommendations and made our experience so pleasant! Thank you. Definitely will be back"

"Spanish Sangria a solid Newark restaurant. Being an out of town traveler, finding a decent restaurant in Newark can be a challenge; the pickings are pretty slim. After eating at Spanish Sangria, I can finally say, 'I found a decent restaurant in Newark. ' The interior was clean and modern. The bar was filled with what appeared to be a jovial group of locals with everyone speaking Spanish. Or was it Portugese? I don 't know don 't speak either one. <br/ <br/ The meal starts with the obligatory bread, which tasted freshly baked. They also serve a very nice onion soup with what tasted like home made croutons to garnish. I ordered clams Valenciana as a starter $11 . This was a generous portion of clams approximately 18 in a marinara sauce that had a smokey, peppery flavor. My main course was a paella $20 with lobster, shrimp, calamari, clams, mussels, chicken, vegetables and rice. There was enough food to feed three hungry adults. That said, it was a bit dry and a bit over cooked. The signature sangria $5 was good, but unremarkable. Service was impeccably attentive.<br/ <br/ The Spanish Sangria might have a bit of trouble competing across the river in NYC. But in Newark, it is a real find worth trying."

"First time there on a date. Parking is free around corner in a secure garage/lot huge convenience in this area. Easy safe walk to restaurant. Politest staff, beautiful and huge inside. Giant imported wine list and other drinks, tasty. Food however…was the best I have had in a while. Shared the NZ clams broth was A . We normally avoid bread. This time had to order extra just for the broth. Main dishes were amazing as well: grilled whole sea bass for me, salmon with scallops for wife… we were both in awe at the perfection. Finger licking, old world, rich yet simple, not overly elaborate or experimental food. We love seafood. We decided that this specific cuisine, if this is what it tastes like, tops the list of any other. Which neither expected. My tastebuds are still daydreaming about it. Must return asap."
